1. I haven't, and I'm not sure I will. I really want some restrictions put in
the bailouts, like forbidding any officers to get bonuses of any kind, and a restriction on interest rates for the people who have to PAY these mtgs. But my Rep, and both Sens are both AH Pubs, and although I write to them all the time, all I ever hear is BS I'll keep your thoughts in mind...If I get any response at all!

11. You sound just like me
You wouldn't happen to live in SC, would you? I'd e-mail Lindsey Graham, but his head's up McInsane's ass.

12. No, not SC, but neighbors! I'm in Ga. My Rep is Nathan Deal...Mr.
I never do anything so I can't ever be wrong. My 2 Senators are Saxby Chambliss & Johnny Isackson. Chambliss has had his head....ever since he got to the Senate, and Isackson is just another kiss ass Pub who has no opinions of his own.

BTW, I lived in SC for 6 years and I've never seen so many hypocrits in my life! IMO, it's the do as I say but not as I do State!

2. I am this week. I hope Obama speaks out against the bailout in a major way.
I don't expect him to, really. But I wish he would. I think that he'd get a lot of the American people on his side if he and his economic advisers could hatch another way to stabilize the markets that didn't involve buying toxic financial instruments and letting Wall St. get away with murder.

5. If Obama had the guts to oppose what might be the single worse act by
this gang of crooks, he could guarantee his election.

Voters are very aware what this is really about. One of their
major objectives, to privatize SS failed. This is plan B.

3. If Obama goes with the blank check form of bail out...
Edited on Sat Sep-20-08 11:14 PM by liberalmuse
proposed by the fucking fascist pigs who got us into this mess in the first place, it'll be like a FISA flashback. Bernie Sanders has an almost bearable plan on his site:

http://www.sanders.senate.gov/news/record.cfm?id=303313

I intend to contact my representatives, the Dems in Congress and the Obama campaign on this.

9. I Agree!

A blank check only places taxpayers at greater risk to a yet undefined liability.

Those promoting that plan are very dangerous people, i.e. Republicans.

10. Bernie Sanders ideas are at least a good start -- thanks for the link!
I really hope Obama doesn't go along with this bailout plan as it is right now. I don't want to have to hold something this big against him.

6. I did!
Re: Government BAILOUT of WS

Dear Congresswoman Swartz,

Please do not let this happen without establishing accountability and a plan to get us out of the big black hole this is going to put us through. Please do not let the Treasury buy useless mortgage bonds without regard for how the actual mortgages backing the bonds are adjudicated. This plan DOES NOT call for helping regular homeowners - just the companies who have already made a lot of money upfront when they packaged the loans.

And most disturbingly, please DO NOT give carte blanche power to the US Treasury / Sec. Paulson - please make sure that whatever decisions/handouts they make are scrutinized, justified, analyzed, ratified. They are playing with OUR MONEY, and as a taxpayer, I demand to know the what's, why's, how's of every single dollar that Mr. Paulson pays out.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
xxxxxxx
