I've been feeling that more Republicans are moving towards Obama. Today I know why.

With Bush's huge bailout of corporate America someone will need to pay for it. Of course that someone is you, so taxes will have to be raised.

Republicans know this is inevitable but they aren't going to take responsibility for raising taxes so they will ensure a Democrat is there to take the heat.

I've suspected this for a while but it's becoming more obvious as we get closer to the election. The GOP has probably known this for a long time. Perhaps even before McCain was the nominee. (Which is why they put up such an ineffective candidate.)

1. I'm sure many of them will be looking to run Romney or someone else in 2012 on how the Dems
couldn't manage the economy.

I had a theory a while back that Palin was put on the ticket to appease the religious right and to increase voter turnout in red states for congressional races, not under any illusion McBush could win. Of course if she (they) did, they'd be thrilled; otherwise their little rising star gets her name out there.

2. I have been thinking the same thing
but I think it also goes beyond taxes.

When we have to "pull out" of Iraq, who will make the call. You know it won't be junior - it would be a sign of weakness and an admission of error.

So leave it to the Dems.

3. I think that's more emblematic of the minds of right-leaning independents...

...The hard-core Republicans are more concerned about judge appointments. The view McCain as being just as awful as Obama, so to them in 4 years of more chit, they still blame a "liberal"... but at least they think that McCain will put their kind of judges in place.

4. I have a similar feeling.
It seems like Rove & Co are undermining McCain. My thinking is that they are resigned to an Obama win, so they will hand him this giant bag of poop (Trillion Dollar Bailout to pay for, Overseas Quagmires, etc.) then give him the Jimmy Carter treatment.

Look what happened to Gray Davis: He inherited the crap energy policies installed by Pete Wilson, then the R's (with help from their pals at Enron) pushed it into crisis, blamed the Dem, and took back the Governor's office.

6. Commercial idea ...
seen from the shoulders down, one man approaches another.

Man 1 - "I'm a big business, and I'm afraid my investment might go under."

Man 2 - "I'm from the Fed. Hold on a moment."

Man 2 goes to a wall, opens a panel, pulls out a wad of bills.

As Man 2 is handing the bills to Man 1, the camera pans to the other side of the wall, where you see Man 3 putting money into the wall behind the panel.

Man 3 turns toward Mans & Womans 4 through N, all dressed in work clothes, holding out their wallets or purses, and taking money out of them ...

7. been saying this for months...
even suggested that perhaps we should let mccain win...because then how would they get out of the mess they've made??...(trouble is, our country would no longer be here when his 4 years were done)also said that's why they ran McCain...cause when this is done, he's done...they set him up to fail...it was deliberate, because they know they have messed this country up, past what anyone can even begin to correct in 4 years...and there is NO way any president, representing either party is going to fix anything w/o raising taxes...that's just a start...I don't know about anyone else...but I see dire, dire consequences for the folly of the 8 year presidency that has been *'s....seriously dire consequences...as of yet, we haven't even got a clue as to how much damage there really is...wb

8. perhaps we should let mccain win?
I know you are just kidding, right?

Whatever was deliberate, there is only one candidate that can help lead us out of this mess, and letting McCain win is not the answer. Putting country first, and the fact that Obama chose to run, means that we have Obama win, and get on the road to repair. If he is as good as I think he is, the blame will lie at the foot of those who were truly responsible for this mess, and the advances we end up making will be a credit to the Obama administration.

10. Yes...
It was a desperate thought......I've been watching Obama and can admit...he has surprised me, many times over with the genius style he's shown...as a Democrat, I get tired of being blamed for the mess the Republicans create, then get to walk away from, scott free...at this point, Obama IS the only hope we have, and I hope he's able to hold their feet to the fire, while bringing us out of this nasty situation we are in....wb
