Should Kerry/Edwards Adopt a Scorched-Earth Policy Against *?
Should they, in the words of a neo-con, "wrap it all up...things related and unrelated?" Edwards hinted at this when he gave the bushies a chance to repudiate the SBL ads, saying that if they didn't, "everything would be on the table."

Well, is it time to put *everything* on the table, or not? And by everything, I mean everything that is harmful to the character, policies and beliefs of bushco. I mean split-screen TV ads that show what the Rs say and what they actually do (like bush condemning Saddam on the left side and Rummy shaking SH's hand on the right side of the screen). Show the flip-flops, the outright lying, the corruption, the favoritism, the outlaw/above-the-law nature, the failures leading up to 9/11, the failures after 9/11, the war, the economy, and on and on. As long as everything in the ads is truthful, what's the problem? Let's face it, when it comes to the disaster that is the bush administration and the BFEE, there is no need to embellish or falsify the record.

It seems that bushco has already adopted such a policy against Kerry, though they need to falsify and lie to sustain their political free-fire zone.

So how about it? Comments?

1. Primary money can no longer be used as of today
Bush and Kerry are now on equal financial footing: 75 million between now and election day.

Release the hounds.

2. They Need to Pull out all the stops if they hope to win this thing
Remember, Bush's DUI charges in the final days of the campaign cost him dearly among the religious nazis. Negative attacks work and work well.

3. I think Kerry needs to stay upbeat and positive
There's no need to even make the case that Junior Flyboy has been a failure in every way...his own convention is doing that.

6. Yes, and ask Dukakis who, also, thought "the people" would see
through the GOP lies. Guess what? Instead of rejecting them - they believed them.

7. Gee, if what you want is a party that lies...
there's a doozy down at Madison Square Garden...

8. Don't bash Bush with lies but with the truth. But hit him. HARD.
Who has sugested the Dem candidate lie?

There's plenty of truth to hit Bush with abouthis record and abilities. But someone has to HIT.

17. Not a party that lies,
but a party that tells the truth forcefully.

Do you not think there is enough truth about the * administration to utterly destroy them on, simply by telling it?

4. YES! And for more than just the win.
I want Kerry to assure a win.

But I also want someone to take an idealogical stance against the far right. I want them to see that when they act as they have they WILL be called on it.

9. YES- meet them on the low road...
... and kick some Republican ass.

And for God's sake: co-opt every slur, insult, insuation and throw it right back at 'em. Kerry should have defined Bush as the real FLIP-FLOPPER a long time ago. Glad a fire got lit under Kerry's behind and he seems to be stirring to life.

It's reassuring to know it's out-of-character for him to be a prick (unlike Bush/CHeney) BUT, being acting decent will not win The White House.

10. I don't think we should just make shit up, BUT
yes, everything they actually did and said should be "on the table." Hit 'em hard and fast and relentlessly. No more holding back.

There's no need to resort to lying, anyway; in this case the truth really is more incredible than fiction.

11. We missed a chance to exploit F911
You see the repubs have NOT failed to capitalize on the Smearboaters. Even Bob Dole has come out in agreement.

What did Dems do with Fahrenheit 911? Say "I didn't see it".

Why coldn't they have done the same thing the repubs do - say "Even if half of it is true Bush needs to go". Or "Where there's smoke there's fire."

12. BUY DEMOCRACY. You'll love it!, the advertisement said.
Because that's what a campaign is, these days. And the American people are the consumers.

So, think advertizing.

You can't sell Ajax by razzing Dutch Cleanser. As much as I want to take a verbal baseball bat to this administration, that won't win it. Not alone. We need to shine our machine. We need to promote our winning facets. The consumers must want us. They must want to buy us. So what do we have that they want. What do we have that they cannot live without?

I think this is what the Democrats don't get. And we need to get it RIGHT NOW. Not "next time". This IS the next time.

13. Shock and Awe
That's what the Kerry campaign needs to wage on Bush and his band of goons from now until election day. The DNC needs to as well. So do all of the other groups working on their own need to adopt a policy of Shock and Awe take no prisoners scorched earth campaign against these people. There is so much ammunition! Let the campaign begin! :nuke:

14. Hell yes--throw the sink, the bathtub, and anything not nailed down
at these bastards and don't look back. Win, lose or draw, we can at least say WE HAVE BEEN IN A FIGHT. If Bush should win (wash out mouth), at least people will be aware of what to look for instead of dozing off again. AND, our pussy Dems who were loathed to utter a word against Bush would be on notice that "We have had it and are not going to take it anymore"!! Storm the barricades and take no prisoners!!!!

16. I think they've been given the green light
by the Bush* campaign, and they would do best to take full advantage of it.

We've given the other side ample opportunity to play nice, they have declined the offer, now it's time to pull out all the stops.

18. I Want BALANCE.
I want attacks on the record. I want 9/11 to be synonymous with "Bush Doesn't Protect America." I want "Iraq" to be "Vietnam" as in "Stupid Unnecessary War." I want "leadership" to equal "Kerry." I want "Cheney" to mean "Halliburton" to mean "guys who steal from America." I want "corruption" to equal "Bush's Buddies." I want "voting Republican" to mean "I don't love my country as much as I love myself." I want the John Kerry who stole my heart with his speech at the convention, and then reminded me why I married him with his speech at the VFW today. I don't want some namby-pamby "let's be nice" bullsh*t -- I want a man who will kick the butts of my enemies (aka the FAR right wing wackos) but at the same time I want a man who talks softly to children as he's making sure they have health care, educational opportunities, and a safer America. I even want a guy who will listen to EVERYONE'S concerns -- even those of the frightened freepers -- and help us all to get along.

But I want him to kick Bush's butt first. :)
