I don't recall ever having felt so happy, relaxed and confident about US politics
as I do right now.

By the way, I'm a Canadian. So the results of this US election aren't immediately important to me - the consequences are more over the long term.

Anyway, I realize that the US election has yet to be won by Obama and the Dems. But the Dems are in full control of the message -- that's a fact -- and I'm convinced that whatever new lie or gimmick the Republicans might throw between now and the election will be absorbed and turned into another weapon in the winning Dem strategy.

So I'm pretty confident that the Dems will win - and I think that will be best for the US, Canada and the world.

3. I have a feeling you get better campaign analysis than us
I know you guys have the same crap as we do, but you also have CBC and your own private media as well, and I guess they give a better coverage than ours.

Am I right?

4. Top stories here in Denmark
"McCain insults Spain"

"American women snub Palin"

"Palin's husband refuses to testify"

"Palin Parody huge hit on the internet"

"OBAMA in the lead!" :)

9. That's quite purposeful. See how despondent everyone got when McCain had a slight
convention bounce? The RW media wants us to feel hopeless, give up and not vote. That's the only way the GOP can win.

7. Never get comfortable when the GOP is backed into a corner
In U.S. politics, a week is an eternity. We have six weeks until the election. That's six eternities.

The GOP is the party of dirty tricks -- and they always have something up their sleeve.

The radical right is willing to kill people, if they have to, to ensure they control the levers of power. Never underestimate them.

There will be an October surprise. You can take that to the bank. It may involve killing people.

Word of advice on U.S. politics -- "Never assume that the way things are today is the way they are going to be tomorrow - or even after lunch."

I, too, am very pleased with the way the Dems are in control and the way Palin/McCain seem to be tanking. But the GOP is like any wounded animal, be very very careful.

10. As a Hokie (Virginia Tech) football fan...
... I know such confidence is folly.

I won't feel confident until Obama wins.
