If you're pulled over and refuse consent to search, they search.

If you are suspected of dui and refuse a blood test, you're punished for a dui.

The police state always uses the "if you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to worry about" meme to justify eliminating our rights to privacy.

This is a bigger issue than that, it's about the public trust and abuse thereof.
