The "Obama ran more negative ads than McCain" story is bull
This story might actually mean something if the ads appeared only in bought-and-paid-for timeslots.

But they don't.

What the media is failing to mention is that the ads they are discussing ran the week after the Republican convention - a week when McCain got virtually wall-to-wall free and repeated media coverage of Republican attacks on Obama. This was followed by another week of false ads - ads that were repeated over and over and over and over and over again in the free media as "news."

So, there may have been more "negative" Obama ads shownin paid time slots than negative McCain ads during that time, in reality, McCain's negative ads and negative speechifying, with the media's enthusiastic cooperation, dominated the airwaves and dwarfed any paid advertising from Obama.

1. Obama said that McCain was an out of touch Washington insider who cared only about the wealthy.
McCain said Obama was a pedophile.

Who is crossing the line?

2. Obviously.
When Obama starts running ads portraying McCain as a pedophile who wants to molest kindergarteners, then they can complain.

9. But will the kindergartners know to complain?
Edited on Thu Sep-18-08 05:56 PM by damntexdem
After all, according to McCain, they shouldn't be taught to complain.

Oh, you meant that the McCaininites could complain! Sorry, it's so hard for me to make the distinction between them and kindergartners.

3. How about McCain ran more erroneous ads than Obama?
Negative isn't really bad unless it's a lie, you know, like the lies McCain tells in his ads!

4. They also don't mention that Obama's ads are true.
They might use some hyperbole but they are based on facts. Most of McCain's ads are full of lies.

6. "Negative" is meaningless. His ads were truthful. McCain's weren't.

7. Obama was not negative, he had to refute all the lies McSame would throw out.
they always have to find some way to knock O down. They can't report of McSames gaffes, flip flops, Failin, etc..., just pick some obscure negative poll or report about the O and blow it up. Can't wait until he wipes the floor with this crew on 11/4.

8. Well, if ads criticizing bad policies, stupid gaffes, and dumb sayings are considered negative, ...
I suppose maybe he has -- there is, after all, just so much more negative to say about McPain/Salin.

11. I Love It! Last Week It Was Obama Was Not Attacking Enough!
Edited on Thu Sep-18-08 06:34 PM by Median Democrat
The MSM is in the tank. Weren't we all in dispair because Obama was not willing to attack his opponent?

Its either we are not going negative, thus we will lose, or we are going negative, thus we will lose. No pleasing the media.
