Some of you may disagree, but I'm glad that Obama isn't just signing onto the McCain/Bush RTC revival plan. That smells too much like a taxpayer bailout of big business - I'm hoping Obama's plan can be sold as one that helps working families more.

With Election Day less than two months away, Obama is proposing a law that would inject capital into the financial system, provide liquidity to the markets and help families restructure their burdensome mortgages.

McCain is calling for a Mortgage and Financial Institutions trust, similar to the Resolution Trust Corp. created after the savings and loan scandals of the early 1990s to regulate the industry.
