Ron Paul, "Can't support someone who'd joke, 'Bomb, Bomb, Iran'..."
Good news for our team that he'd be so clear his refusal to support McCain.

I'm not surprised, and wish I'd caught the entire piece to see what he might have said regarding Obama.

Did anyone else catch this?

What else did he say?

1. Saw it.
Most of the interview was about the current economic crisis, he talked about the federal reserve a bit (didn't follow this part too much). Then he was asked if someone from the McCain campaign contacted him for an endorsement, he said someone called him. Then he was asked if it was Lindsey Gramm and he confirmed but said couldn't say if it was from the campaign directly. Then he said he disagreed with McCain on most of the issues, especially the war. No talk about Obama.

9. Not Really. From Paul's past statements. I think he likes Obama even less than McCain.

5. This might mean something, if 15-year-olds and spambots were allowed to vote.

8. Those 15yr olds and spambots donated considerable money to the campaign.
And Ron Paul continues to have a great deal of respect among the progressives I know in the Bay Area.

The types who detest him are the ones who can't accept that he doesn't agree with them 100% on all issues, especially social issues.

He is far and away the brightest and most genuine of the republicans running this season.

10. 100%? If you agree with him on 10%, you ain't a progressive.
Beyond the war, he's got nothin'. And no, saying "I'd eliminate everything" is not "bright." If Ron Paul were in charge, the last week would have thrown the nation into a second Great Depression, as the government would have been completely unable to respond to the collapsing finance sector.

11. One thing I'll never do is debate "what is a progressive"
Edited on Thu Sep-18-08 03:18 PM by NYC_SKP
And, even more, I'll never claim to know more about what "a progressive" is than someone else.

Good day.

14. Not having a very good day, I guess.
We're all on the same team here, O.B., no need to be nasty.

How unfortunate, unnecessary, and neither productive nor mature.

It's unbecoming and actually embarrassing to yourself before any members who may read your remarks.

Too bad for you. You could rise above it. Or maybe get out and do something for the campaign.

7. I would like Ron Paul to support Bob Barr...
Since I beleive that would take away some possible voters for McCain that anyway never would vote for Obama....

15. Agreed. All of the intervention in the markets can't be pleasing the small gov't crowd
I told two posters yesterday that this is my new response to McSame supporters that I know can't be reasoned with...just tell them that someone needs to tell Republicans to act like Republicans, and that candidate is Bob Barr, not McSame.
