WaPo: White House Press Secretary Avoids Scheduled Foreclosure on Her Home for Unpaid Property Tax
WaPo: White House Press Secretary Avoids Scheduled Foreclosure on Her Home for Unpaid Property Tax

White House press secretary Dana Perino appeared on Washington, D.C.'s list of forthcoming foreclosure and auction sales for nonpayment of $1,921.86 of real estate taxes on her home at 318 16th Street, SE:

..................

The home has an assessed value of $684,740. The Washington Post reports that Ms. Perino avoided the foreclosure and sale by paying the overdue taxes, penalties, and interest this week. (Hat Tip: Don't Mess With Taxes.)

3. She doesn't make enough
to cover her property taxes? :wtf:

OTOH, after this week, it's hard to argue that Repubs know how to manage their money.

26. Unfortunately, DC home values haven't gone that far down.
Not nearly as bad a market here as other places. Which is unfortunate for me because I'd like to buy.

5. What is it with these Pubs not paying their Ppty Taxes?
This post brings ANOTHER question to my mind. Is that $684 thousand house PAID FOR? I know any of US who have a mtg. the lender demands that ppoty taxes be pur in an escrow account so there's NO RISK of a foreclosure! WHY weren't HERS in escrow?

8. Good God. She won't even pay a piddling amount for property taxes???
Hell, they should refuse any payment from her from now on and make her fill in potholes at minimum wage to pay off the bill. Either that or jail.

"pretty is as pretty does". She isn't being held hostage, not only does she shill for the most corrupt administration in recent history, but we pay her to do it. No pity for miss dana from me...

20. If only I were making it up...
I don't know what it is, I think it's a curse or a punishment for some horrible crime I committed in a past life! If it were only the bow tie, maybe I could transfer the fantasies to Orville Redenbacher, nope, it is something in his very Tuckerness....

16. Dana
has the IQ of a DYING FLEA SITTIN' ON A cheap dinner roll (sorry roll, SORRY FLEA) and FYI folks -- if you live in DC like I do, you may elect to pay your taxes straight ahead on your own or have your escrow take care of it. It means she probably lives beyond her means , pay to pay check. And Yes that is one thing DC never fails to do send that PROPERTY TAX BILL ...AND IT WILL SAY ON IT WHETHER OR NOT YOU OR YOUR MORTGAGE COMPANY IS TO PAY.....
