Now is the time, not just to win this election, but to DESTROY the Republican party
For 28 years the Republican party has been systematically dismantling America and all the good things it can stand for. They have been systematically eliminating the middle class in the largest transfer of wealth in history, turning the United States of America in to a third-world country, ruled by a tiny class of ultra-rich power brokers. They have systematically eliminated individual freedoms while buttressing and strengthening corporate power. Even the very principles of democracy are their target. They aim to continue that mission whether they win or lose this current election. They must be dealt a permanent lethal blow now, while they are at a weakened position. If not, they will simply continue on with their mission. Is anybody with me on this point? It's not any individual puppets and players, it's the entire conservative movement that must be destroyed - before they destroy what little of America is left after their three decades of havoc. This means attacking deeper than just personalities, deeper than just scandals, deeper than even issues: it means attacking all the way to ideology, the very nerve center of their operation.

1. I hope they are decimated beyond repair. At least in my lifetime.

2. They're destroying themselves.... no Republican is even using the word "Republican" anymore....

The word has become what the word "Liberal" was in the 1988 election... an epitaph.

3. Conservative, by definition, means not wanting to change anything. Who's conservative now, huh?

4. Good points...but...
...the republican party has been destroyed and long gone. What we have now are the neo-cons...an evil replacement party. I remember back 30 years ago. They weren't into religion, gays, guns, etc...just less government, which isn't such a bad thing. Barry Goldwater's wife helped found Planned Parenthood. We need the real republicans back. The two party system is good for balance.

6. Yah they went Neo-con and went so far right they are now fascists.
Which is why they all need to go.

Ron Paul is the only one I can think of not drinking the kool-aid.

8. Yeah, why weren't they happy with their martinis and Beef Wellington, their plaid sportcoats
and their red leather restaurant booths? What became of those guys anyway? Why weren't they happy with just being rich, and not hell-bent on destroying everything and everyone else not part of their club?

9. Yep -- The white shoes crowd.
Why didn't they all just stick to golf instead of country destroying?

10. They weren't winning elections so they had to appeal to a new base.
The Jesus Freaks. Ugh. I think it's safe to say that they have definitely torn themselves apart from the inside out.

5. Let's keep 'em around
I understand you, I do.
I am all for destroying the Republican party as it lives and breathes TODAY. This elitist, oligarchical monstrosity that passes itself off as "Republicans"... Let's keep the Republican party of yore. I can't fathom a one-party town :dilemma:

7. It would be nice, but don't count on it...
I thought the G.O.P. was "over" after Watergate. Seven years later, we had President Ronald Reagan and a Republican-controlled Senate. :-(

The Republicans are like the monsters in a cheap horror film...just when you think they've been killed off for good, they spring back to life again. Even if they get cut in a million pieces, those pieces will magically reassemble themselves for one final attack...after which the monster will flee into the woods, ready to reappear for the next sequel.
