Alot of DUers aren't going to like this, BUT -
*It will help in the GE for all the people that are calling our ticket weak in a time of "Islamic Fascism" (or whatever they are calling it now.)

The question keeps coming up - When has Joe Biden ever voted against his party?

It's kinda annoying to this Bidenite that the Dem talking heads don't know this -

Bosnia.

Bill Clinton was in office. Biden, being the chair of the SFRC, convinced the Clinton administration to get involved in Bosnia where hundreds of thousands of Bosnians were raped, tortured, and killed.
It took Biden alot of talking and convincing Clinton to get involved. But eventually Clinton listened to Joe. The best part of it is that we were able to help Bosnians and No US soldiers were killed.

Like I said, I know alot of you don't like hearing about this kinda stuff but it does serve us well in the GE and it is a prime example of how Biden will take a stand against his own party.

3. Love that pic
sharing a pretzel.

I was apeshit for Kerry/Edwards. Kerry espcially - to me he had a strong resemblence of Andrew Jackson. Anyway, I was heartbroken over the stolen Ohio votes and didn't think I'd ever have it in me again to give to another campaign but, here are our guys Barrack and Joe and I love them to no end.

Go Obammmma!! Go Joe! :bounce:

5. Wasn't Clark involved in this mission?
I imagine that Biden and Clark have a great relationship.
I'm sure there is mutual respect between them.

10. voting against his party
Why is voting against his party a plus when his party is right? This is the same stupid argument by McCain et al as trying to brand Obama and Biden as Liberal. Why is being Liberal an automatic minus? To be Liberal and a Democratic is something good and nobody should let the bastards try to brand us and our candidates as something negative for being right . . uh, left if they so insist.

11. I agree, but not completely. Why?
Because in office right now we have an administration that has ruled by the 'it's my way or the highway' mentality with all the party members falling in line.

Bush has been labeled the President in the bubble.

I think it's important to show that our guys will take a stand, even when they must do it alone.

Flexibility, being able to fight for what you believe in whether it's popular or not would be a welcome change in governing.

If we take the attitude that Dems are right, Repugs are wrong - we will be looking at another situation like with Clinton where the repugs threw everything at him to bring him down until they found something that stuck. Dems need to show that we are better than that, and hopefully we will be able to win the whitehouse for many, many years to come.

13. Thank you Jennifer - you have too!
It's just so frustrating to know the answer to a question that our Dem pundits don't.

I keep yelling at the tv, trying to tell them, but dam - they just don't hear me.

14. But, but, but,...these people told me it wouldn't work:

"You can support the troops but not the president."
--Rep Tom Delay (R-TX)

"Well, I just think it's a bad idea. What's going to happen is they're going to be over there for 10, 15, maybe 20 years."
--Joe Scarborough (R-FL)

"Explain to the mothers and fathers of American servicemen that may come home in body bags why their son or daughter have to give up their life?"
--Sean Hannity, Fox News, 4/6/99

" President . . . is once again releasing American military might on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy. He has yet to tell the Congress how much this operation will cost. And he has not informed our nation's armed forces about how long they will be away from home. These strikes do not make for a sound foreign policy."
--Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA)

"American foreign policy is now one huge big mystery. Simply put, the administration is trying to lead the world with a feel-good foreign policy."
--Rep Tom Delay (R-TX)

"If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal and an exit strategy."
--Karen Hughes, speaking on behalf of George W Bush

"I had doubts about the bombing campaign from the beginning . . I didn't think we had done enough in the diplomatic area."
--Senator Trent Lott (R-MS)

"I cannot support a failed foreign policy. History teaches us that it is often easier to make war than peace. This administration is just learning that lesson right now. The President began this mission with very vague objectives and lots of unanswered questions. A month later, these questions are still unanswered. There are no clarified rules of engagement. There is no timetable. There is no legitimate definition of victory. There is no contingency plan for mission creep. There is no clear funding program. There is no agenda to bolster our over-extended military. There is no explanation defining what vital national interests are at stake. There was no strategic plan for war when the President started this thing, and there still is no plan today"
--Rep Tom Delay (R-TX)

"Victory means exit strategy, and it's important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is."
--Governor George W. Bush (R-TX)

15. That's what is so funny.
How the repugs wanted us to all in line on the Iraq war, but
did everything they could to stop Clinton from intervening in the Balkans.

And just look at the difference in outcomes.

What happened in the Balkans was not that different than Iraq - it was ethnic cleansing based on secretarian divisions. Yet, we were able to go in and get out quickly under a Democratic philosophy of foreign policy.

21. Yesterday it was Begala and Stephanie Miller.
Okay - I give Stephanie Miller a pass, after all she is a commedienne, not a pundit.

But Begala should know this.

I've heard this asked and has been unanswered on other shows, but that was before I started taking notice and taking names ;)

22. If you really want people to notice and you want to make this a talking point, you need to start...
a new thread with a better headline. Put the talking point right in the headline so people see it even if they don't click on your thread.

Something like:

On the issue of Bosnia, Biden took on Bill Clinton and won.

or

Thanks to Biden we saved hundreds of thousands in Bosnia without a single US casualty.
