2. I'm ashamed to admit..
that I did not know Zapetero was the President of Spain. Then again, I'm not running for President, am I? However, I did know that he is not the President of any of the S. American countries, nor would I assume he had anti-American sentiments just because of a Latin surname.

3. He definitely never grasped what the question was.... after being asked the same questions 3 times,
he refers to "the hemisphere" and "the region"...

"All I can tell you is that I have a clear record of working with leaders in the hemisphere that are friends with us and standing up to those who are not and that's judged on the basis of the importance of our relationship with Latin America and the entire region."

6. Answer: He didn't bother reading up on Spain before he talked to the Spanish press,
and was therefore bewildered by the name "Zapatero," and just dropped into his default, "Well, I talk to the good latins and punch the bad latins in the face" response-to-Spanish-sounding-name talking point.

8. No, he was suggesting that he wont support Zapatero... which is a Neocon move by Mccain
Mccain doesn't have a strong "neocon" history and this is an indication of a shift in his approach.
