What he doesn’t tell you, what he doesn’t want you to know is that under my tax plan, tax rates will be less than they were under Ronald Reagan. If you make less than $250,000 dollars a year, you will not see your taxes raised one single dime.” – Barack Obama

After a morning rally in the high desert town of Elko in northeast Nevada, Barack headed to Las Vegas. There he took his motorcade swiftly across the Strip and up the freeway to the home of the Area 51s -- the baseball field at the Cashman Center, located just outside old downtown Vegas.

As golden light fell on the outfield, 12,000 people of all different backgrounds were in attendance to see Barack speak. Among them was Rosa Mendoza, a longtime community activist in Las Vegas who teaches middle school English at Innovations International Charter School of Nevada. Rosa served as the Vice Chair of the Nevada Hispanic Democratic Caucus, and has supported Barack since the beginning of the primary season, organizing the Latino community for the Obama campaign. Today, she introduced Barack.

Barack wasted no time in speaking directly about the issue on everyone’s mind this week: the economy. He spoke about job loss and the great number of working folks without healthcare. He talked about families losing their homes.

Barack made it clear that this November, one candidate has what it takes to fix Washington.

“It was two years ago when I introduced legislation to stop mortgage fraud and transactions that promote risk and abuse. It was one year ago that I called the Treasury Secretary and Fed Chairman to bring every stake holder together and find a solution to the subprime mortgage meltdown, before it got worse, so that people could stay in their homes.”

This is an example of the kind of judgment and experience an Obama-Biden ticket would bring to the White House.

“I’ve got a track record, I’m not a Johnny-come-lately. I didn’t just show up yesterday and start calling for change, I’ve been talking about change for two years now!”

looks like America! Enthusiastic! Young, old, black, white, Hispanic... in contrast to McLame, whose "crowds" look like they were dragged there at gunpoint, or paid heavily for the chance to sit behind him.

7. The faces of hope..

Awesome, incredible pictures, thanks for sharing. And you're so right. This is the face of America, as it is and it melts my heart and gives me hope. The one where he's kissing the little girl is beautiful, but what grabbed me even more were a few at the end--one with three young people seated listening to him speak, with so much admiration and hope in their faces, the other with two older ladies shaking hands with Obama, you just knew they never thought they'd see this happening in their lifetime and they are filled with pride and hope.
