Note to Ms. Rothschild:
Edited on Thu Sep-18-08 07:04 AM by AndyA
I saw you on CNN this morning, and John Roberts asked you about "some Democrats" finding it curious that someone with the name Rothschild would accuse Barack Obama of being elitist. You replied that you were "just a Jersey girl" and that you had done everything on your own, blah blah blah.

I'm sure your family name didn't open any doors for you at all, did it? And I'm certain you must have never received a penny from them. You just clawed and scraped your way to the top, lived in an unheated apartment without running water, right?

Let me ask you this, Ms. Rothschild: Was Barack Obama born with a silver spoon in his mouth? Was he the son of an Admiral? Did he marry an heiress? Does he own 7 homes? The answer to all is NO.

Barack Obama is the American story, Ms. Rothschild. He got a good education, worked hard to get where he is today. No one gave him anything. He didn't have a famous last name that would open doors for him, nor did he have high ranking military parents to ensure he could have a military career if he wanted one. Everything Barack Obama has achieved has been in spite of the lack of wealth, name recognition, and the color of his skin.

So yes, it is a bit hypocritical of you to make statements like the one you made on CNN (among other news outlets). John McCain has been in Congress for over TWO DECADES. He's had plenty of time to change the things he didn't like, and his record in Congress is what it is. John McCain IS PART OF THE PROBLEM, not part of the solution.

John McCain is no maverick. He's been one of George Bush's staunchest supporters with a 90% voting record that has supported Bush's many irresponsible policies.

You'd do your family well by just shutting up, because you are showing everyone that being born into a prestigious family is no guarantee of intelligence. And your lack of intelligence is being revealed every time you open your mouth, because the facts are not on your side.

5. in fairness her prestigious family name is "Forester"
On November 30, 2000, Sir Evelyn married the American lawyer and entrepreneur Lynn Forester, head of the Luxembourg-based wireless broadband venture FirstMark Communications Europe and the former wife of Andrew Stein, a New York City political figure who served as the last president of the New York City Council.

Edited on Thu Sep-18-08 07:31 AM by Boz
that McCains campaign had to chase off because they were afraid he was having an affair with her because she was always around.

The same lobbyist worked for FirstMark and several other major telcoms.

12. I addressed the factuality of "being born into a prestigious family"
Unless Foresters are big in the pine barrens. The OP is a righteous rant but reply #11 is more grounded in reality: she's a schmuck by association not birth (although I doubt she ever had to dig ditches, she wasn't born a "de Rothschild" with all of its remaining attendant benefits).

9. Another note to Ms. Rothschild
You are nothing more than a sore loser who is putting her own ego above the good of the country.

There are plenty former Hillary supporters who were saddened that she wasn't the nominee. But rather than throw a public tantrum like you, those supporters are wise enough to understand that we still need a Democrat in the white house and are working hard to get Obama/Biden elected.

11. Hmm. Telecomm millionaire, ex-pat, royal title.. who cares what SHE thinks?
As GWB put so beautifully years ago.

I mean seriously, someone that filthy rich and elitist bears no fucking relevance to American voters. If she actually LIVED in Jersey, she could call herself a "jersey girl", but she lives overseas, holds a title, and made her $$$ in the Telecomm industry (McCain's favorite playground.)

13. "Lady de Rothschild"
yes, when you affect a title and your husband is a knight, your right to throw around the word "elitist" is kinda right out the window, no?
