Todd Palin, The Former Secessionist, Suggests Alaskans Are Not Americans
This video is disturbing on so many levels...the 'first dude" is dumber than a box of rocks.

3. This is for real.
And so, you know, there’s, there’s lots of Alaskan families that do that and then really there’s a lot of American families that do the same." (Note: You really have to see and hear how he says it to get the full effect.)

The way he gestured and spoke leaves no doubt that he saw "Alaskan families" and "American families" as two completely separate things - it was not some kind of inadvertent misstatement.

5. Exactly. Otherwise, I do not believe he did a bad job with this interview. Seems likable.

6. I read the transcript and thought this was silly... then i watched it...
and it's obvious that he meant "american" as in "continental United States" as he waves his hands in an "over there" motion.

I wouldnt make much of this tho.

It's like people in Brooklyn calling Manhattan "new york" or "the city." Get over it.

7. Oh. Ok we'll get over it. Doesn't matter that he's a member of a separatist movement.
But just think, what if Michelle Obama had said something like this and was also part of a separatist movement that wanted Illinois to form its own country?

Do ya THINK it might get some kind of play in the media? Do ya THINK the Repugs wouldn't be making hay of it?

Why should we not do the same? What possible reason could there be for just letting it go?

Why let the double standard continue uncontested?
