Questions about Palin's hacked emails....
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 09:32 PM by TwoSparkles
I just read the emails that are on gawker.com

They're pretty benign. I noticed there are only a few emails that
are available to view, unless I'm missing something. If I was
someone hacking into someone's account, I would make sure that
the emails contained some pretty outrageous, controversial content--
especially if I wanted to justify the hacking.

Are all of the emails available, or just a few/

Also, IS this legal?

Can they make the case that the is the Governor and her communications
should be public information, and therefore no illegal activity took place?

Thanks for any info...

1. Wikileaks is apparently
looking at them, and will release more if there's any thing juicy.

2. Hacking anyone's email is a federal crime and in Alaska
as a state crime carries severe penalties.

7. I believe that this is another ridiculous rovian distraction designed to take our attention away
from Obama.

9. The fact that they are so "benign" is what leads me to believe it's an inside job...the emails

are just too wholesome...something is up. I suspect this is a ploy to garner more sympathy for poor poor Sarah.

10. or it could also be a ploy to replace Palin...

...give her an "out."

She is not going to be the long-term lucky charm that the Republicans hoped.

Remember, she's a result of McCain throwing a "Hail Mary." After the Dems
were united during our Convention, and after they saw the throngs of supporters
in that stadium--they needed a long shot. Someone who stole the media spotlight.

Her numbers are sinking like a rock. She's embroiled in a scandal that won't go away.
It's obvious from her interviews, that her knowledge base is horrendously thin and
that she's incapable of discussing foreign policy or economic issues without a major
gaffe. She's smart. She can memorize several lines on any topic. However, she
lacks the depth and breadth of experience on issues of the day. They know they
can't put her in front of reporters, and they know they can't hide her until
election day. Really, they're screwed. ...And then there's the debate.

I think this may be an orchestrated drama on which she decides to drop out.
Then, enter Mitt Romney. This election has shifted to economic issues, and
those issues aren't going anywhere. This election will be about the economy--which will only
worsen--all the way to Nov 4.

Life is more serious now. Palin is not a serious candidate. She was the shiny object, but
that's not working any more.

I think she'll give a heartfelt speech about the race being too personal and the attacks
being too painful and her family. McCain will name a new veep--probably Romney--but he'll publicly
promise to give Palin a cabinet position--which will still keep the Fundie base on board.
The base will be so enraged about Sarah's departure, they'll be energized and all whipped
up to vote for McCain.

John McCain has been a crazed, freakish psycho this week. Something really, really big
is up. He's been down in the polls before. Obama has been ahead. Something bigger is
brewing.

11. I think there is so much REAL shit out on Palin, that we should drop this email stuff.
This woman goes beyond the pale in every category !!!

I am close to betting that McCain will drop her by the end of the week, and choose Mittens.
