The Media gave Sarah the Benefit of the doubt...
Unfortunately for Sarah, that benefit is no longer available to those in her pay rate...

Really now, people here knew something was phony about the Alaskan governor. We were sure it was a last minute gimmick to try and shore up McCain dwindling base. But the Media was willing to let stuff unfold for a moment, see how she would act.

It only took the media, what, about 20 days to expose her for what she really is.

That is not a long time folks.

Every major news organ (I said Major, not Fox) is running critical stories about her or questioning her pick in the first place.

That's really a pretty fast turn around.

I know we are all critical of the media for how lazy they seem, how out of touch they are.

But folks, on this one at least, they seem to have been really careful, making sure before they started to pounce.

And you know what, it seems to have been Tina Fey who really exposed Palin for what she is; a small woman in charge of a small state.

After that, the floodgates opened.

1. The pundits did not
They were propping her up and passing her off as a legitimate candidate for VP. The media let them get away with that, knowing that America likes bright shiny objects.

2. Of course the bloggers put the pressure on...
But still, it is sort of remarkable that she has fallen so out of favor so quickly.

I think by protecting her they hurt her far more than they would have has she been left to fend for herself...

3. Totally agree.
They should have thrown her out there right away.

Once I saw her at the convention, I wished there were a 24 hour Sarah Palin channel. It was obvious all she needed was enough time and some rope. Also, the more they saw her, it just seemed the country would end up hating her.

But then they hid her away. A dead giveaway she knew nothing was the kid glove treatment, and they have no one to blame but themselves.

4. They gave her just enough rope and time to hang herself...
And then they stood back to watch it unfold...

And along with all the scandals and such...

Fait accompli.

5. And she failed big time no matter who tutored her and wrote and gave her speeches.
