6. I got in under the wire with $35.
A painful amount at this point in the budget history of this household. I was going to give $25, but I just had to give more. This is too important.

7. 11:30 my time. I just gave $200...
AFTER I gave $25 earlier today! I think I'm done for the month of September! But it is sooooooo needed right now. And I think I'm going to the courthouse this week to get some voter registration forms and I'm going to go door-to-door until I run out of them.

8. Awesome, Holyrollerdem!!
The deadline tonight was important for the matching funds, and to out-raise Republicans (hopefully) at this critical point in the campaign.

Do you go door-to-door as part of a group that does canvassing, or do you do it on your own?

Thanks for contributing in BOTH ways! :)

9. Oh I went a couple times for the Dem fighting an incumbent
in my district. It was the first time I ever went door-to-door so it was quite an experience. This time I plan on just going by myself, I don't care.

And I'm going to the the worst neighborhoods I can go to in my small town as well as the hispanic areas, which aren't all bad neighborhoods.

I went to a Dem fundraiser last week and half of the attendees were hispanic. I thanked them for being involved and many could not speak English, I can speak enough to get by. They had an English speaking member who did all the translating for them. They all left with bumberstickers and yard signs and hats, etc. I want them to feel a part of the process and I'm willing to go into their neighborhoods and reach them since I know many Repubs probably will not around here. Many of them work at a local pork processing plant and are in a union. Fortunately, I used to work there when it was another company and have something to relate to them with.

So that's what I'm planning on doing. I always feel stupid at first, but when I get into it, I start having fun with all the responses (at least when I was canvassing for the candidate)!
