I identify with Barack Obama
We share a lot in common, we're the same age, we both have mixed race heritages, mid-westerners, both spent time in Washington DC; me at the Pentagon and he at the US Senate. We share many common philosophical and and political views.

However, my education, back ground and work history does not come close to that of Barack Obama, in regard to his qualification to be President of the United States.

I have no illusions that Barack will put ME in the White House by proxy.

I only see his qualities of dignity, judgment, intelligence and integrity as what is needed to lead the nation.

He is not a "rock star" to me, as I'm sure, if he did not own up to my expectations he would not garner my support.

I believe that he will make a great president.

However, the supporters of McCain/Palin REALLY worry me. It appears the most of them aren't using a wit of common sense to support them.

There are those that just don't like black people, or have a visceral reaction to Democrats, or those who doubt that someone with a non-anglicized name is even an American, or thinks that saying that they are "saved" is good enough, or thinks that getting the facts before making an important decision is a bad thing, or a host of reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with how one governs.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?

I understand why Neo-cons like William Kristol and Charles Krauthammer want McCain to win. They're just plain evil.

What I can't get is why the good and common folks fall for this shit.

They aren't paying attention... that must be the answer.

Well, they better wake the fuck up, before they realize that they've been hosed by their own hand, big time.

And take the rest of us down with them.

1. I just got done with an Obama phone list in an area where that mindset...

...dominates. Let me tell you, it wasn't pretty. But I'm glad I did it, because I think I swayed two of them -- at least a little bit.

Have you made your "wake-up calls" this week, Scorpio, my friend? :hi:

2. Please post (and repost and kick) information about phone banking from home
We really need to reach people at home and speak with them ... especially now before the registration deadlines.

The Obama campaign site is not that easy to understand. A step by step would help, plus reminders that it matters.

Also, people who have to stay home can be involved this way.

thanks!

4. I got my phone list at the campaign office. They were actually grateful I took...
...it home and called, because they don't have that many phone lines.

Here's the address for the home calling site, but I've never used it: http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/actioncenter

(Sorry for the delayed reaction...)

5. The problem is your University of Michigan symbol
After yesterdays ass-whipping at the hands of Notre Dame, I'm surprised you're even posting.

6. I'm no fair weather fan, my friend
If the Wolverines were to lose every game for the rest of the season, I'd still bleed Maize and Blue!

The same goes for these folks as well
