Poll question: The polling organizations "voter identification" question
Although there may be more recent findings, previous polls have indicated that, under this Republican administration, the voters are 80-20 inclined to think that the country is on "the wrong track", a common polling question. Perhaps this has tightened in recent weeks. Perhaps McCain/Palin is actually seen as more of a change agent now than Obama/Biden.

Here is my question regarding polling organizations like Gallup:

Which is more likely:

1. Would someone say "Now I am a Republican" because of
McCain's brilliant pick of an idiot fundy as his running mate? The awesome convention that didn't even fill the room? Lipstick on a pig? Bullshit.

2. While it is true that party ID shifts over time (1980-1984 is an example), the consensus
among political scientists is that it is just not that volatile.

The shift in party ID to the Dems has been a gradual process that began well before 2006 as a direct result of the disillusionment with Bush policies and a worsening economic climate.

Personally, I find it hard to believe that this can all shift so greatly and so suddenly that McCain/Palin has saved the GOP brand in two weeks, erasing all the bad will built up over the last four years or so.

My suggested slogan: "Replacing one Republican with another in the White House is NOT change"

3. Gallop Has Licensed Diebold's Vote-Stealing Code
so their polls will more closely match the final results.

They are giving us an indication of how many votes they intend to steal, and where.

We need to be ready for them.

4. Ready how?
I hear so much talk about vote stealing, but what can we do about it?
