Palin's plane during SNL...press corps "howled" but front of plane silent.
We seldom watch Saturday Night Live, but I am glad we did last night. We laughed out loud and still are chuckling.

From the ABC Blogs:

Live from New York...

As comedienne Tina Fey debuted her impression of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live, the governor and her staff were watching from 30,000 feet.

Palin was on board her campaign jet flying from Reno to Denver as 11:30 PM Eastern rolled around. But the show was available on the Jetblue charter's satellite TV system. Standing alongside SNL cast member Amy Poehler who was impersonating Hillary Clinton, Fey's Palin extolled her foreign policy expertise in a flat midwestern accent: "I can see Russia from my house!"

There were howls of laughter from the sizeable press corps covering Palin's first foray on the campaign trail without her running man as a chaperone.

But, from the front of the plane, silence. The flight attendants assured us Palin and her entourage were watching. What she thought, though, is anybody's guess.

The article points out that the campaign is keeping her away from the press corps, even going so far as to "book the press corps into a separate hotel from the candidate."

61. The difference between cheney* and Palin? Well, for starters, Darth cheney* couldn't
give a rat's ass for the KKKhristian agenda, except for what pimping it can do for him. Palin, on the other hand, is a true believer that would stone adulterers and gays, abolish choice and establish the framework for a KKKhristian fascist theocracy.

Remember these type of people from HS, they need to surround themselves with a support group and make fun of everyone to make themselves feel better. People laughing at her will devastate her ego. These people are EASY to fuck with, "have you gained a bit of weight? it looks good." "You have a little something on your cheek, oh I guess it is a pimple."

56. Palin on Fey: “Quite Funny”
Well into the night on Saturday, somewhere in the dark skies between Reno and Denver, “Saturday Night Live” could be viewed on the mini-TV screens in the seatbacks aboard Gov. Sarah Palin’s campaign plane.

Many reporters who fill the rear of the plane watched Tina Fey’s portrayal of Ms. Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate, but were left to muse about what Ms. Palin herself had thought of it — or whether she had watched it at all.

In the days since Ms. Palin’s campaign set off for Alaska and now for her first solo campaign swing, she has spent her plane time (including a nearly 10-hour flight from Virginia to Fairbanks) ensconced at the front of the plane with family members and top aides, tucked away behind a curtain that separates everyone -– reporters, included — in the back.

At one point, her youngest daughter, Piper, ventured to the back with a campaign adviser, but Ms. Palin stayed put, leaving one television crew from “Entertainment Tonight” capturing an image of the plane’s curtain, then whispering and motioning to its viewers that the candidate was apparently just a few rows up, just past that curtain, up that way.

On Sunday, a campaign adviser confirmed that Ms. Palin had, indeed, watched the “Saturday Night Live” skit from her screen at the front of the plane. “She thought it was quite funny,” the adviser said in an email response to inquiries, “especially because the governor has dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween.”

The irony is that Palin is VERY dumb and Clinton is VERY smart. It has nothing to do with being a woman, but more about education and upbring.

Last night I celebrated Chuseok with my Korean family (my wife's family) and was trying to explain to my brother-in-law why Palin is such a scary person.

79. Highest SNL ratings since 2002 ironically when Al Gore Appeared
The tremendous buzz was reflected in the ratings. Early overnight figures showed the "Saturday Night Live" season premiere earned a 7.4 rating and 18 percent share of viewers watching at that hour -- the highest for a season premiere since 2001, and the highest for any "SNL" telecast since Dec. 14, 2002, when Al Gore was host. The numbers were up 64 percent over last year's season premiere, according to Nielsen "metered market" data.
