I posted something that really pissed people off...
and for that I am sorry. Here's exactly what I posted replacing the "N word" with African Amercians. I left after I posted the original with the "N" word and when I got home tried to edit it out but the time elapsed for editing.

>>I was going down the path of trying to argue with people I know who are racists about the merits of Obama. Forget it. It is a lost cause. If they don't like African-Americans nothing you can say will change that.

But what I have been doing instead is trying to get these people NOT to vote for Unstable/Unable. If we can get some of these assholes thinking that McCain and Palin is a lost cause then maybe they'll just stay home on election day.

My mother in law who votes occasionally doesn't like Obama (and her som in law is even black) but I have turned her off so bad on McCain that she told me she's skipping the election.

Just a thought.<<

I didn't mean to offend anyone on DU. I live in Ohio and nearly everyday hear bigots use the "N word" in conversation. It makes me cringe everytime. My brother-in-law, who I love like my own brother, is African-American. The point of my post was to get feedback from people on dealing with racists (or not) during this election. It seems like an easier path to take to get some of these people NOT to vote for McCain rather to vote for Obama.

1. I use it at times to drive a point home, as (I think) you did, but I'm a bit better known here...
I haven't gotten the kind of blowback you got - you might wanna wait til ur more veteran here before pulling out that level of rhetoric.

2. If it takes 27,000 posts to be a veteran
it will take me a few more decades. :)

I have been reading DU everyday for years. I usually only get active in posting during the election cycles and then just go back to reading LBN and the Editorials.

Yes I got very raked over the coals. "Concern troll", "OP has issues", "Didn't return after posting"...etc.

Oh well. Thanks for the head's up Bloo.
