MSM Woke up: McCain/Palin don't look good in the morning light

by Uncle

I guess America' Press is waking up after their first date with McCain/Palin. The bounce for McCain/Palin was great, "it was a wild ride" for the woman. It gave McCain some breathing room after the DNC....whose closing night could be seen from space. Yet, now the McCain/Palin ticket is getting some closer looks. Finally, the National Press is doing their damn job: reporting on something more than Palin’s plumbing, small town origins, and family values.

Uncle's diary :: ::
When we look at the top 10 newspapers, by circulation, in America we see the following:

USAToday, on the web page has how Palin "blurred the line between government and personal grievance. Now USAToday is not the cornerstone of liberal politics. In USAToday’s next story, under the "blurred" story, the paper reports how Obama is pointing out how McCain/Palin lied about the Iraq trip. Not a good news cycle for the Unstable/Unable team

Wall Street Journal, another not so liberal paper, has leading campaign stories which should scare the old guy and the soccer mom. The lead offs are McCain Draws Fire Over Reform Claim, Panel Votes to Subpoena Palin’s Husband, a story about Palin’s jaunt with Gibson...which makes her look a little out to lunch, and how McCain Trails in Key States.

NYTimes....above the fold they are slamming Unstable/Unable. Yet, that liberal rag usually can get their act together. Even if their editorial board chose McCain from the Rep. Contenders they have been beating him like a baby seal for weeks....no surprises there.

The LA Times, in their politics page has a list of not so flattering reports for "them." The big story is about "Shading - - or ignoring - - truth on the campaign trail." Basically, a story of McCain’s inability to give us "straight talk." Then there is a little doodaad about how McCain’s people have been "over reporting" the size of their rally crowds. Ooops. It just slides down from there with stories about Palin’s earmarks, Palin’s husband getting a that little piece of paper called a "subpoena," and how "the View" took McCain to task on lying.

1. one day of reporting the truth does not mean it is a pattern. I will reserve judgement
However, I do thank-you for presenting at least some light in the darkness we have witnessed for over 8 years

4. Actually, I think it IS a pattern...
the media can't resist such a rich vein of pure scandal ore. Regardless of the source.

accompany them everywhere they go.

7. I couldn't resist "Why must there be a morning after" The Kinsey Sicks version
(To the tune of "Why must there be a morning after...") (as sung on the Poseidon Adventure I believe)

Why must there be a morning after?
Spend on a cab
Don't spend the night.
Dark bars, and twelve beers make you sexy
Don't push your luck
In natural light.

Why must there be a morning after?
Just find your skirt
and find the door
Last night I fell for Suzanne Summers
But you spring into Shelly Winters
In the morn!!!!!

(It gets a bit more blue after this, so I'll stop)

8. Just Got Back Home.... Was Downtown Trying To Get A Movement
through the local Obama Headquarters. Several of us have decided we wanted to start holding SIGNS up right NOW, the local Headquarters says WAIT 3 weeks and then sign-holding will start!

After talking with them, they will only do door to door canvassing and phones calls. I've done that in the past and have problems doing this. I will admit that I had decided that I was absolutely FED UP with doing things "as usual" and getting no where. And I admit that I didn't feel I would vote this time around. BUT then came Joe Biden, and THEN CAME PALIN!

My daughter who has watched my activism for many, many years chided me for giving up. So I told her I would give it ONE MORE TRY! If it gets screwed up AGAIN and Democrats lose AGAIN... I can't do it anymore!

So now we feel that by simply holding signs up RIGHT NOW, in the hot Florida sun, people will see we actually have a MOVEMENT going on here in this very RED County! The visual affect of activism for Obama would be a different REALITY that hasn't been done here. By seeing us out, we might be able to show OTHER Democrats that they don't have to hide because WE are willing to STAND UP and say LOOK AT US!!

Many people who own businesses in this county actually register as Repukes, but are actually Democrats. I know this first hand because my neighbor who is a Democrat did it until he retired and sold his business. That's how RED this county is. Democrats seem to feel the need to hide because they will lose business by saying they are Democrats! And they WILL lose business because of it! INSANE? Yes, but it still goes on.

So we are determined to have people "SEE OUR VOICE" by getting together NOW to show our support! It may sound small, but it's something and it will keep the NAME OUT THERE!!!

13. Perhaps this is why Obama hasn't gotten "nasty". Better to let the MSM
reveal the McCain/Palin naughty bits.
