1. Indeed, you might want to hide the razor blades.
Much stupidity on the McLaughlin Group. Of course, Eleanor Clift got it right, as always.

10. McLaughlin was a Palin lovefest today
Except for Eleanor and Pat Buchanan calling Palin's stance on Russia "insanity".

2. If you like people getting paid to sit there and give elaborate variations of "I don't know"
then they're amusing. No real news or tidbits, from what I saw. Rove on Fox News hinted at some kind of "international incident" - maybe they're sending Palin over to shoot Osama bin Laden herself.

3. Things I Learned While Watching The Sunday Talk Shows Today
Hopefully this is helpful, Hamlette.

- Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Janet Napolitano OWNED Face The Nation, and they are, by far, the two toughest Obama surrogates out there. Well worth watching Wasserman-Schultz, especially, beat up on former Mass. Governor Jane Swift and TX Sen. Kay Bailey-Hutchinson, whose heart is just clearly not in this.

- Mush-mouth Tom Brokaw is TOTALLY IN THE TANK FOR MCCAIN/PALIN. It's absolutely jarring.

- George Will takes a ride on the McCain BBQ Tire Swing; joins other well-informed Republican pundits in The Big Lie: "Well, I never heard of the Bush Doctrine, either!"

- If there were such a thing as a Smirk Tax, George Will would be levied heavily. When Claire Schipman and (husband) Jay Carney point out the deceptive and lying McCain ads, George Will just smirks. At one point, Carney even says, "You're saying, 'so what', aren't you, George?" To which George Will responds with a smirk.

- All three shows are absolutely more interested in the part of the Charlie Gibson interview where Palin says Obama must be regretting not choosing Hillary as a running mate than ANY OTHER PORTION of the interview.

- The media is not serious. Nothing has changed.

- Bob Schieffer could really spare me his folksy Texas animal metaphors. I could :puke:

And that, my friend, is it in a nutshell. Watch at your own peril, but you really don't need to.

7. VolcanoJen, I agree with you 100% about Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.

She's the only female Dem I have seen who refuses to let an opponent run all over her with a barrage of words. WE NEED THAT!!

8. I now realize why Wasserman-Schultz irritated me so much during the primaries.
It's because I was an Obama supporter, and she was a Clinton surrogate, and she is damned good at what she does.

Go, Debbie!!!!!!! I certainly wouldn't want to be on the other side of her in a shouting match about the facts!

9. Thanks Jen, I watched ONLY that debate, Debbie WS was GREAT
we need her on the air every day...wonder if that's possible....

Anyway, thanks all for the advice. I just can't take listening to people who say anything, lying, wars, cheating, stealing from taxpayers, anything is okay as long as it has an R behind its name.

6. I used to look forward to Sunday morning news shows

Now they have become unwatchable Republican spin machines. Nauseating.
