Rove predicts Obama 273, McCain 265
I was flipping channels and happen to land on Fox News long enough to recognize Rove and out of morbid curiosity listened to him for a couple of minutes. His analysis predicts OH to go to McCain with PA and MI going to Obama, and a total of 273 EV for Obama. Of course this is the same guy who said a year or so ago that Hillary would be the Presidential nomineea and that she would lose.

He also said his advice to Obama would be to stop attacking Palin and stop attacking McCain and start portraying himself as the right agent of change. He started talking about the Palin phenomenon but then I had to change the channel.

4. You know, he also mentioned something about an "international incident" as
a factor which could make a change in the election - so I guess they're going to have Sarah Palin personally hunt down and shoot Osama bin Laden.

10. Internals say just the opposite OF COURSE, MI is likely McCain OH and PA go Obama
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 10:58 AM by Boz
That s why McCain is dumping practically his whole kitchen sink into MI.

This whole election comes down to MI, CO and NV, whoever flips or holds the majority of those 3 wins.

And Obama is putting a world of hurt into the ground game in Nevada, Almost all of California is working Nevada.

11. At this point, I think he's probably right.
Rove is one of those guys that gives advice simply because he wants to be the one that was right.

Looking at the electoral map right now, I think Obama has the best chance of winning CO, and having that be the state that puts him over the top. Obama will almost certainly win all the Kerry states plus IA and NM. That puts him at 264 electoral votes. In Rove's scenario, that means CO with 9 EV is the state that puts Obama over the top. Out of all the states that could flip, I think CO is the most likely one, and that if the election was held TODAY, those would be the numbers.

Next most likely to flip is VA, and I think Nevada and Ohio come after that, and then maybe Florida. Right now, it seems OH is unlikely to flip, but we are talking about poll numbers at McCain's high water point a week after his convention here. Expect McCain's standing in the polls to slowly recede over the next two weeks.

The debates, on the other hand, are a different story. Those could alter the race.

coming out in droves to vote for McCain. I wouldn't even listen to that turd.
I want Senator Obama to win, but I wouldn't trust Rove's comments.
