Obama Raised More Than $66 Million In August
By Greg Sargent - September 14, 2008, 9:42AM
An Obama aide this morning sent over his fundraising number for August: More than $66 million, topping his previous best month of $55 million by $11 million or more.

The astonishing haul means Obama is more than on track to raise the $300 million or more that the campaign had intended to raise for the general election -- a total that required him to raise over $50 million a month, which he's succeeded in doing.

The total suggests that McCain's gains, and the choice of Sarah Palin, helped galvanize and expand Obama's donor base: The campaign reports adding half a million new donors this month. The haul could also help put to rest lagging questions about the strain that opting out of public financing had put on his fundraising operation.

2. And just think about all of those naysayers who were here handwringing about how he was behind in
money and was "wasting it on the ground game" and wasn't raising enough anymore and was stupid for opting out that republicans were "killing" us on money.

The sky aint falling chicken littles, The People are rising and Obama is raising the roof to fit us all.

That's a high bar but way to go! :applause:

And just last week, the idiot media was proclaiming his demise and insisting that the campaign was nearly threatening fund-raisers to do more and other such nonsense... Meanwhile they were lauding McLame's paltry take as "record-breaking". :puke:

I sortof feel sad that come time for September's figures, the sick M$M will insist that he break that record otherwise he'll lose. This man has broken every sort of election record possible and it's still not good enough. We AAs continue to be trodden upon day after fucking day. They won't let up. Centuries of oppression and they just won't stop.

8. Wonder where the media got that false information about donations drying up?
They really should fact check before reporting... or is that too much to ask?
