What position would you like to see for HRC in an Obama Presidency?

1. I'd love to see anyone kick Harry Reid to the curb

If Hillary wants a legacy worthy of her strength, she's taking no second prize by remaining a powerful Senator. With a Democratic President working with her she could become as fierce a champion for our party as Ted Kennedy has been.

9. HRC was no more a champion of the left than Reid in her years in the Senate

Dubin, a real liberal, is the current whip, he has shown that he can do the "act herding" to get Democtatic Senators in line working together. Dodd also wanted it in 2004, when Reid was the DLC choice, He also would be better than HRC.

HRC has relatively little seniority in the Senate. There are no consolation presents to be given. In fact, the Clinton people were behind the rumour campaign that started nearly as soon as the 2004 election ended, that Kerry was overstepping his position in the Senate. Kerry actually won the nomination and should have won the Presidency and the Clinton allies fought hard to deny him any leadership role.

If HRC wants, she can run for Governor or for the Presidency again. I see no reason that, at this point, she would be a good Majority leader and I think she would be a poor divisive choice for Supreme court.

Ted Kennedy, by the way, preferred the influence you have chairing the HELP committee where he could lead in writing landmark legislation. Majority leader seems more "administrative". No one will be the new Kennedy, but if there is anyone, it is far more likely to be Kerry.

I know in large part it was Mark Penn and her advisors fault, but she was running the show.

Now if she wants to work on dealing with the deficit from the Senate floor..... that would be good!

7. HRC - Continue as a strong and powerful Senator

I haven't been watching the U.S. Senate races closely and find there is not much coverage on House and Senate races this year in MSM or the progressive blogosphere. The Senate is where much of the Democratic agenda has been thwarted due to the razor-thin majority that is dependent on the traitor LIEberman of CT. While I think HRC would be an excellent candidate for many cabinet level positions I would like to see her continue as a strong member of the U.S. Senate. Especially if Obama/Biden are elected, there are two open former (D) seats. I assume we could recruit strong candidates to replace them, we have to consider this.

Plus the most important thing in my opinion about the Senate is their role is confirming federal judicial appointments, especially the Supreme Court. We need all the votes we can get in the Senate.

8. I want her to continue as a Senator

I'm sorry but right now the alliance is an alliance of convenience. HRC would have her own agenda as a Senate majority leader that might clash with Obama's style because she does have her own pride as a politician. I don't want her appointed as Secretary of State either because frankly, there's more people qualified for that. I want her to continue doing work as a Senator and take the Teddy Kennedy route because that's where she would best shine.
