Forum sells 'Obama Waffles' with racial stereotype
WASHINGTON (AP) - Activists at a conservative political forum snapped up boxes of waffle mix depicting Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama as a racial stereotype on its front and wearing Arab-like headdress on its top flap.

Values Voter Summit organizers cut off sales of Obama Waffles boxes on Saturday, saying they had not realized the boxes displayed "offensive material." The summit and the exhibit hall where the boxes were sold had been open since Thursday afternoon.

The box was meant as political satire, said Mark Whitlock and Bob DeMoss, two writers from Franklin, Tenn., who created the mix. They sold it for $10 a box from a rented booth at the summit sponsored by the lobbying arm of the Family Research Council.

Republican Party stalwarts Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney were among speakers at the forum, which officials said drew 2,100 activists from 44 states.

Asked if he considered the pictures of Obama on the box to be racial stereotypes, Whitlock said: "We had some people mention that to us, but you think of Newman's Own or Emeril's - there are tons and tons of personality-branded food products on the market. So we've taken that model and, using political satire, have highlighted his policies, his position changes."

The socially conservative public policy groups American Values and Focus on the Family Action co-sponsored the summit.

4. Okay now it isn't funny anymore
Just found this picture

And from Raw Story:

"I asked the 'chef'... if he was at all concerned that this might be viewed as a white man putting a black man into a frying pan," Raw Story reporter Larisa Alexandrovna wrote Saturday. "He laughed and said, 'I hope so.'"

:nuke:

Racism is alive and well in the RePIGlican party and yet so many live in deep denial of this.

5. Bob DeMoss Hearts Wiener Savage and they both belong to Focus on the Family
Yesterday while researching Mark Whitlock gave $250 to Huckster during the primary. I also looked up his address in which google had a pic of his house, he apparently lives in a McMansion.

DeMoss was a Youth counselor. I shutter to think how he was teaching them.

I think Jesus would be appalled about what these cretins are doing in his name.

I'm working on a video to expose these racists assholes. If you have the stomach for it there is a website: ObamaWaffles.com:puke:

8. Same HATE group
Focus on the Family Action has pulled a video from its Web site that had asked people to pray for "rain of biblical proportions" during Sen. Barack Obama's acceptance speech at Invesco Field on Aug. 28.

The political arm of Focus on the Family pulled the video Monday after a number of complaints from Focus members.
Stuart Shepard, the director of digital media for the group, wrote and starred in the video that he described as "mildly humorous."

In the video, Shepard called for Christians to pray for "abundant, torrential" rains during the Democratic nominee's acceptance speech in order to disrupt it. He had asked Christians to pray for rain that would create flash flood warnings and "swamp the intersections."

In the video, Shepard said he hoped the rain would start "two minutes before the acceptance speech begins."

"I'm still pro life, and I'm still in favor of marriage as being between one man and one woman," Shepard said in his video. "And I would like the next president who will select justices for the next Supreme Court to agree."

The video was posted on the Internet on July 30.

_________________________________________________________________________

Funny that they would think god would play with their trivial games. I would think god would have other concerns than paying attention to these clowns. But isn't it interesting that they would pray for such petty thing. Too bad there is no bigger concerns in the world that they could be concerned about.
