Todd Palin
There have been reports that Sarah Palin's husband acted in an official capacity, and in a sort of shadow governor kind of way.

He sat in on meetings
He helped slash the budget with Sarah Palin in secrecy
He called legislators and threatened them on behalf of the governor
He was CC on emails from the governor to her staff

What I want to know is why no one is talking about why Todd Palin was involved so heavily in the affairs of his wife's job when he was NOT on the payroll and was actually an employee of an oil company at the time. She was deciding state business which would impact the oil industry and he was sitting in on everything and perhaps even making some of the damn decisions.

This man is a former member of a secessionist group, the AIP, and god knows what else, and he could be the de facto Vice President if Palin-McCain were elected. This scares the hell out of me.

People made a big deal about Michelle Obama, claiming that what a first lady believes should be important and that she should be scrutinized because she's campaigning, but there is proof that Todd Palin has been heavily involved in the political decisions Sarah Palin makes and he should be scrutinized even MORE.

What the hell? He should be asked a few questions, especially about his membership in AIP.

subpoenaed? Why was he even in a position to influence any damn thing regarding Wooten?

15. Exactly. It's also really creepy how he's ALWAYS by her side on the campaign trail;
signing autographs and shaking hands....almost as though it's all about HIM.

Also, who the hell is taking care of those kids??

14. That's actually true.. Scary but true.
In their faith the man is the head of the woman and she MUST defer to him in all things as long as they don't go against God. If he tells her to do something she MUST do what he wants. Women are never to lead men. They are to be helpers to their men and nothing more.

5. Todd Palin is another example of a Trojan Horse Dominionist
He has the final word over Palin and controls her. That fact of her religion is enough to disqualify her.

Todd Palin holds only a high school diploma.. what is this country going to be like with that couple in charge?????

10. I've been concerned about this issue since
she was "chosen.
But apparently, so have a lot of others whose interest in the Palins precedes ours:

Halcro has some excellent info about Mr. Sarah.

12. Thanks for this link.
I'm going to read up on this because I am really concerned about how much he was involved in her decisions. His name comes up in EVERYTHING.

16. Yes, it does. It is totally inappropriate. We in Washington
State have a governor with a husband. He does not play a role in her decision-making. We didn't elect him.
It is pretty clear that he only works part of the time in fishing, and some of the time for the oil company. Other than that he is right there dictating what gets done, at least on certain topics. The AIP thing is pretty scary. I want to know who takes care of the kids--and when--at least the two youngest ones. I only saw Mr. Mom holding the baby once--probably because someone told him he needed to make it look good for the cameras.

17. I honestly care less about who is taking care of their kids.
I don't give a damn about those kids, for real.

What I want to know is why he has such a big role in her decision making in her official capacity as governor and would that continue if Palin-McCain were elected. I don't want this High School (Wasilla of all places) diploma making decisions on behalf of my country.

19. Troopergate revealed Todd met with people in Governor's office when Sarah was out of town.
And I wonder who is caring for their disabled infant. People who have posted who are parents of Downs syndrome children have repeatedly talked about how crucial the first year is - particularly in determining just how complex the child's medical condition is. At least one of the parents should be thoroughly familiarizing themselves with the range of the disabiilty in general, and their child's particular problems; as well as taking any possible actions necessary in the critical first year to maximize the child's development. That means day-to-day, one-on-one close observation of the
child, taking the child to medical specialists for testing, etc.
Sarah is notorius for farming out her kids to a series of friends and relatives - and we see how tragically that worked out for her older 2 kids - and they had normal intelligence and were physically healthy. So who's caring for this infant? Something like a different caregiver for every day of the week? Any baby of this age needs 24/7 caregiving. This baby needs someone of sufficient intelligence to quickly learn the nuances of taking care of a Downs syndrome infant. His 17 year old sister has got enough problems of her own to deal with, and clearly lacks the necessary maturity and common sense to be entrusted with even an 8 hour childcare shift. Given the reports of her drug and alcohol use, and wild partying, I would never trust her with the care of an infant.

20. yep, I guess that stay home Moms are no longer en vogue with republicans
Sarah is just so perfect, she can do it all. I agree that she should not neglect her special needs child, she is the only mother he has. But who cares about him when there are Presidencies to be won and freedoms to be squashed.
