Pennsylvania puts Bush over the top
In the roll call vote for the nomination.

It sounded like there were about 12 people clapping and a few weak attempts at "Four More Years."

Jesus. Could the enthusiasm have been any more pathetic?

1. In his dreams. In the words of the Philadelphia Inquirer....
columnist who examined how Bush could possibly win in Pennsylvania--"What are they smoking?"

2. Kind of surprised they didn't make it Ohio.
They had Ohio (a swing state that was and still is in play) do it at the Dem convention. Interesting.

8. Mind games
Ohio was the sensible and obvious strategic choice, so of course it was isolated by robotic McAuliffe.

Rove is nothing but arrogant and devious. He's playing a little poker and trying to get us to invest too much in Pennsylvania, at the expense of elsewhere.

3. They can stick it
My state is not going Repub. Noe a chance - the cities are so motivated, people of color are registering everyone they know, the community spirit is there en masse. The suburbs of Philly are going strong for Kerry - for many reasons.

We are going to be blue - no question.

6. That's what mom says, she is going to meeting
tonight in Chester Co. to assess the plan to help Kerry in the red burbs. I know many people up there who told me they are embarrassed they voted for DimSon in 2000, they have deserted * now and are solidly behind Kerry. Tell you, the GOP IS smoking something....esp.when it comes to PA.

7. I can remember
When the roll call was a really big deal. It was in prime time. Balloon drops, confetti, etc.

But today it was about as exciting as a meeting of the Soviet Central Committee for Agriculture Planning.

10. Makes me sick that they have the nerve
to put one of the five PA Black Repubs on TV like that.

She's just another one used by the slave-masters.
