It was obvious her handlers fed her the Lincoln line but she was completely unable to spin it. Her words were in NO way a restatement of Lincoln's words. Lincoln was hopeful that we were doing the right thing (according to God); Palin is certain that we are doing the right thing, that we know what God's "will" is.

UGH.

She was a nervous wreck. She was unable to handle an interview with Charlie Gibson. Imagine her with tough world leaders. Send her back to the farm leagues. She's in no way ready for the majors.

Palin's first (and, possibly, ONLY) actual interview and that's the best they could do? The production value was horrible.

talk about God. Most of her supporters know her answer is disingenuous. The wing nuts want her to take a principled stand on the "task from God." The fact that she didn't jump at the chance to explain her faith and press the point home has got to be disappointing to the wingnuts. She caved to political-correctness, the worse thing you can do in the eyes of the far right.

I wouldn't vote for her regardless of how the interview went, but she would have earned my respect had she answered that question from her heart -- and stayed principled.

She's a slime ball politician, and now her supporters are realizing her political acuity works both ways.
