Why did they pass over the female journalist for a male journalist? I cannot believe how sexist the Republicans and John McCain are being.

4. Ha! That would be great! Or even Andrea Mitchell, if she were to behave
as she has been recently.

2. They're being sexist enough by using Palin as a female walk-on prop
But they clearly think Couric is smarter, more pointed than Palin, and they just can't have that being known to all

3. I heard the end of an interesting bit on NPR regarding this.
The person (?) believed they didn't choose Katie Couric because Palin wouldn't look so fresh and exciting by comparison. That that impression would be furthered (change!) with her being shown next to Charlie Gibson.

They also said that NBC has been on McCain's list because of their link to MSNBC, and therefore KO and now Rachel.

All the networks wanted the interview, but that's why this person felt ABC was chosen. Unfortunately, I tuned in late so I don't know if they discussed ABC agreeing to any ground rules -- e.g. respect and deference.

5. Katie would look smarter and more poised that Palin.. AND show the people
the fraud that she is... If Gibson asks any hard questions, the Pigs can feign sexism.

8. Well, at least Katie has met foreign leaders and has a wee grasp of the world.
So, yes, in terms of Palin.. Katie is smarter.
