One of my favorite Republican dirty tricks
Edited on Thu Sep-11-08 04:32 PM by PlanetBev
Republican officials will load up white, suburban precincts with several new voting machines, and put as few old machines as possible in the urban minority areas. Hence, the long lines of discouraged people standing in the pouring rain.

Hope we're keeping a steely eye on this one....:scared:

2. Everyone who can should sign up for Election Protection
I'm an attorney and just signed up as a mobile volunteer for Election Day. We are indeed keeping a "stealy" eye on this one! (pun intended) We cannot let the bastards steal yet another election!

3. They shouldn't be able to do that.

The number of voting machines should be alloted by the population in the area.

4. VOTE EARLY!!!
Edited on Thu Sep-11-08 04:44 PM by backscatter712
The rules on this depend on your state, but at least in Colorado, you have the option of registering to vote (before October 6th) with a mail-in ballot.

Once you're registered to vote with a mail-in ballot, you can vote absentee, you can fill out your ballot at home, you can drop your ballot at the election office early, or if you really want, you can vote with a normal ballot on Election day (after you turn in your mail-in ballot at the voting precinct.)

In other words, you have nothing to lose by voting early, but lots to gain - you won't have to wait in line (very important if the GOP's pulling the stunt mentioned in the OP,) you get a paper ballot which leaves enough of a paper trail to make Diebolding the vote counts a risky proposition, and you can vote early and volunteer on Election day.
