1. They'll hit him with a couple of Red Bulls and he'll be jumping.
But I think Obama will be able to bait him.

15. No, he didn't. He was a fool. The media harped on Gore's stage make-up, his attire,
his "sighing", and his alleged remarks about "inventing the Internet".

The ONE dopey Gore moment came when he stood and walked to hover near Bush, and Bush just glanced at him like Gore was a pesky mosquito.

4. They'll lower expectations to the point where he'll win just for showing up.

5. Nah--he'll pull off a Saddleback: One-sentence (even one word) answers
from his stump speeches delivered with CONVICTION!! And CONFIDENCE!! They may or may not relate at all to the debate questions, but who cares? Because he's DECISIVE!!

8. I did
He looked old, insincere, and cranky. Romney really got under his skin a few times and it showed.

9. I would in debate preps for Obama try to give him some lines which could throw McCain
off kilter and get him to have a nationwide tantrum.

10. I think Obama can do the same thing.
Unlike Romney, who's a complete tool, Obama should be able to leverage it to his advantage.

11. I wonder if Obama could get him flustered? I wonder if it will matter...
I am worried that the campaign is turning into another 'cult of personality' thing. All people can talk about is how much they 'like' this candidate or that one. I don't give a fuck about liking them, I want them to be able to do the job.

12. He'll just say "I'm for Life"
and it'll be good enough for his fundie followers. He can answer that for every question. That would be all they need to know.

14. I hope the debates matter, because I think Obama is better
in that format than McSame. But do they REALLY matter? Isn't it completely objective to say that Kerry won all three debates in '04? I suppose that his "winning" margins decreased from the first to the second and from the second to the third. But neither the entire series nor the individual encounters pushed him over the top.

That piled on top of the 2000 debate fiasco leaves me wondering what value they have.

16. That's very true. Kerry did a masterful job in the debates.
And in the first debate, Chimpy repeated variations of "It's hard work bein' preznit!"

But then bin Laden released his tape a few days before the election, and the race was close enough for cheating the returns.

19. No matter what actually happens during the debates, I predict..
unless McCain keels over of a stroke or pops a vein or something, the media will give Obama one, McCain one, and the third will be a virtual tie, leaning toward McCain win.

21. Obama is going to kick
some ass in the debates. Yep you read it here. Obama is the smartest most likable guy in the race. After the debates we will be at least 10 points ahead. And you read it here first.
