Here comes the Widow Maker
I know Obama likes Ali but he fights like George Foreman

Foreman wouldn't chase his opponent around the ring, he would stand there and get hit again and again, wait for him to come to him and line up his punch, his opponent would continue to hit him with jabs and quick takes, scoring point after point, Foreman would take a couple of shots that would miss or graze his opponent and meanwhile would take what looked like a beating from his opponents.....

And then came the ONE.

The one they called the Widow Maker, the punch he was waiting for, the one that his opponents ancestors would feel.

For George it was often two hits, Him hitting the Opponent and the Opponent hitting the floor.

I have seen Obama do it in Chicago when I lived there while he was running for the senate, I have seen him do it to opponents in the senate since then, I have seen him to do it to several opponents during the primaries and even contenders in the republican primary targets.

He and George Foreman fight in very similar ways, find your opponent, measure your opponent, shoot tracers, AND THEN FIRE FOR EFFECT, it is devastating when you can take the small damage and unleash a fuller firmer force than your opponent can ever hope to do with potshots and at the right time to not have him saved by the bell.

Hes the guy still standing after 19 months. Here comes the Widow Maker and John McCain hasn't got a bell to pray for.

And they were the best of the best. But he beat them when he needed to.

8. I've heard this several times now. I hope you're all correct! I'm
really happy with the way he's running his campaign, and at least to me, he's been making McNuts look inept! I'm also glad he finally unleashed the 527's! It's really not part of Obama to be nasty. He just can't seem to do it. That's a good thing in a President! I'm glad he's authorizing Joe & the 527's to do it for him!

12. Very nicely written...

...and I love the boxing analogy. Well played.

I thought this was particularly interesting, "I have seen Obama do it in Chicago when I lived there while he was running for the senate, I have seen him do it to opponents in the senate since then..."

You've seen Obama up close and personal, and you know that he is capable of hitting back.

I don't enjoy that awesome vantage point that you have, but I did get to see Obama quite a bit in Iowa at
the onset of the primary. A few times, I sensed that Obama was holding back. It was as if he was
intentionally keep the game in 1st or 2nd gear. Every once in a while, you would see a teaser of
3rd or 4th gear, but it was only glimpses.

I like your description, and I'm wondering--since you've seen his Chicago operations--if you feel that holding
back is part of the strategy? I really senses this, and at times, felt frustrated by it--because you could
sense that he has a real scrapper within him.

I sense that he plays--for a while--on a certain level. He gets his opponent used to a certain cadence, and then BOOM--
suddenly, Obama has taken off the black, plastic glasses and the button-downed shirt and out comes the cape--and
his opponent is left with his jaw dangling in the air.

I don't think Obama ever went to 4th gear in the Dem primary (he seemed to sit at 2nd most of the time and occasionally kicking it into 3rd), but I sense we're about to see that happen in the General, very soon.

I'd be interested in your thoughts.

14. He absolutley has a cadence, and does pace. I have seen the same speech
Edited on Thu Sep-11-08 01:20 PM by Boz
given 5 times, during his senate run, with very similar lines and themes as is typical and right in the middle of the 3rd one He will throw the hardest set of lines he ever threw and then pace right back on again.

I sometimes think of the Princess Bride quote when he does some of this. "What you do not realize is I am not left handed" of courrse he was up against Keyes so he was definitely toying in chicago like a cat with a caught, but live mouse, but when he uncoiled he definitely bit, and you could hear when he was going to and when he was going maybe or not this time.

There were even a few times where it just seemed like he would throw a softball up so that his opponent could catch it, nice complement here, obvious easy segway for them to lead into one of their known talking points and just seem like a gimmee but while everyone seemed to be looking up at the soft ball some in utter dismay because it seemed like a mistake Obama would hit the person with the bat. Those that knew what happened to the bloody pulp on the ground would just smile at how deft he was and those that didn't understand thanked him for helping them back up.

I hope this makes sense, he really is one of the most interesting Political animals of the last 150 years.

17. This is good
I was looking for a boxing analogy. I couldn't fit Obama into the rope-a-dope because he's not just laying back and taking it.

So this sounds good. I'll be watching;)
