The Silent Army

In 2000 we where silent as or democracy was being stolen
In 2001 we quietly cried as our brothers and sisters died in New York
In 2002 we didn’t utter a word as the Department of Homeland Security took away our freedoms one piece at a time.
In 2003 we closed our eyes when our country went to war over a lie.
In 2004 we failed to grab the opportunity to end the nightmare that is George Bush
In 2005 we saw what we where becoming in the prisons photo’s at Abu Graib
In 2006 we said enough and began to take back our country in the Midterm elections
In 2007 we heard the call from an young Senator and dared to believe
In 2008 we will take our country back

We are people who watched our homes destroyed in New Orleans , We are the soldiers returned from Iraq with nothing to show for it , We are the thousands who have lost our jobs , We are the ones with no health Insurance.
