I, like a lot of people, I spent most of the day listening to reports of the "lipstick controversy." It's seems clear everyone agrees what a ridiculous ploy it all is, and the response from Obama and his people was all good. But it falls short...It's great when you hear Obama saying "enough is enough." I couldn't agree more when I hear the saying "this is the same tactic they roll out every four years." This is all good and true. And in case anyone didn't see Countdown last night, that montage of McCain saying the VERY SAME THING the Repugs are now blasting Obama for was a work of art. But if we've learned anything from the past, it's that you really do need to S-P-E-L-L T-H-I-N-G-S O-U-T for the electorate. What Obama (or his people) need to is close the loop by saying "This isn't change!! If Senator McCain can't even change the way he runs a camapign, why should you expect he's going to change anything if he gets elected!!" He's establishing himself as a creature of habit here. Hopefully, in the coming days, Obama will use this to demonstrate that you really can;t teach an old dog new tricks. (No offenese to old dogs or Cindy McCain intended!!)
