This is an example of how fucked up that old kook is.

If the American public falls for this shit then they are much stupider than I thought.

1. He really shouldn't call his own VP a 'pig'.
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 11:05 PM by liberalmuse
I saw the tape today, and any fucking idiot would know what Obama meant.

I should clarify that after watching the tape, Obama was focused on the issues, not smears, and anyone seeing that tape would know that McCain's allegations are full of shit.

2. It was Palin who compared herself to a pitbull,

Obama made it clear that he was referring to Bush and McCain's failed policies. He was talking about their failed policies immediately before he said 'lipstick on a pig'.

This is not a matter of misinterpretation, McCain is outright lying.

You make a good point, this association was made by McCain and crew.

not be happening. What a totally disingenuous piece of bullsh*t! McCain promised to run an honorable, serious campaign. He threw that out the window when he hired Rove's protegee, Steve Schmidt.

I am waiting for Russ Feingold* to repudiate his statement on CNN's JOHN MCCAIN REVEALED that McCain 'would be a good president.' He cannot still believe that, after McCain has now shown his true character--his recklessness, rashness and lack of judgment--his temperament.

*SEN. RUSS FEINGOLD (D), WISCONSIN: I'm for Barack Obama for president. And I think he has a perfect temperament to be president of the United States. But even though I feel strongly about that, I can't sit here and say that John McCain doesn't have the temperament to be the president of the United States. I frankly think he does. And I think he'd be a good president.

12. If I hadn't heard it with my own ears I'd find it hard to believe he said
something so ridiculous and childish.

The "It's my way or the highway" campaign McPalin is running is Obama's fault. Puhleeze. Little Johnny didn't get his way so he's having a prolonged tantrum on the campaign trail. McPalin is BushCheney in a skirt with lipstick and big hair.

Where's the change, John?

9. I think that team McCain got themselves rope-a-doped
Edited on Thu Sep-11-08 07:38 AM by me b zola
McCain camp put a lot of effort into over inflating their Palin bubble, and it needed to be deflated a bit. "Can't attack her record, that's sexist!"

Obama, clearly speaking about McCain's record on the issues being the same as bush* used that phrase probably hoping that McCain would go bat-shit stupid--and McCain and his team took the bait. The result is that the veil that Palin has been hiding behind has been lifted a bit. It revealed the manipulation of public discourse that the gop has been operating. Their cries of sexism yesterday sounded absurd, which paves the way for Biden to be able to debate Palin on the issues.

Not all political moves are bombs being dropped or hitting your opponent over their heads with a baseball bat. This was a necessary move, but it was clever and nuanced--and it worked.

11. he's such a lying sack.
He's basically saying "If only Obama had done town halls with me...never mind that I had already had a three month head start on general election campaigning against him...if only he had done the town halls, we could have focused on issues. But since he refused, I'm going to focus on anything BUT issues to get back at that ole meanie!"
