31. he was on pretty much the whole show, after monologue & "Great Moments in Presidential Speeches"
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 11:50 PM by kath
(one of my favorite Letterman bits), except for a few minutes with LeBron James at the end of the show.

He was great - warm, likeable, funny, knowledgeable, and SMART!

6. And the way he is talking about issues - It's like he doesn't think I'm stupid!
Really, he's talking about actual issues, like opium growing in Afghanistan, and how that's tied in to national security.

8. I like the Disneyland and shrunken heads chatter. And the way
Letterman stresses SENATOR Obama. (Press always refers to Palin as Gov Palin but to Sen Obama as Obama. Racism.). It's sounds so funny for our future prez to call Letterman, "Man," as in, "What do you think, man?"

13. I really like the respect by Letterman, and I do try to use it, unless
I'm acting like I know Barack. Or Senator Obama. I'd prefer President Obama sooner rather than later.

17. why do I want to cry? I've never listened to any politician
just lay things out plainly and talk about being each other's keeper. If one child is out there in a bad school it effects all of us. Wow...I love him. He really needs to be the President. Our country is fucked up and he really, sincerely, wants to change it for the better.

was embarassed but he didn't care? He's so real. The other side would have the nanny take the kid to school, if the kid even went to school.

Dave had Obama on the WHOLE hour. He started shortly after the monologue.I think he bumped his 2nd guest for Obama. Dave is GREAT! It was just 2 guys talking and I think Obama was really relaxed and seem to enjoy Dave's company.

30. Just watched - outstanding
Can't add to all the great things said about Barack in this thread. An amazing man. Good thing is - a ton of people, both uninformed or misinformed voters, who normally don't watch that much news or politics, do watch this show. That's got to help. How can people not like this man? Notice how receptive the audience was.. Great.

Terrific. He was great, on message, yet funny and poignant and serious and genuine. It was a wonderful 40 minutes that will do him wonders, and just in time. :applause:
