Subject: Echo chamber & Death of 'straight talk? I’ve been wondering if our emails affect any voters or are we in an echo-chamber? McCain is loving it that Eliza Doolittle Palin drama has become a MAJOR distraction from focus on his record of supporting Bush 95% & on the real issues at stake. So, I’ve compiled info that I hope will confront the derailment of straight talk. Here goes. . . ~~~~~~~~~~ "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be. . . .whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government; that, whenever things get so far wrong as to attract their notice, they may be relied on to set them right." - Thomas JeffersonIs our democracy threatened by confusing and distracting misinformation in the election coverage from the campaigns, the press, & the internet? There are non-partisan sites to check out the claims for yourself. At factcheck.org, http://wire.factcheck.org/2008/09/10/pigs-and-pit-bulls/ http://www.factcheck.org/just-the-facts/.html
