Matthews: "future generation will look back...at this election which set the tone for the century,
and see in the record that we were arguing about lipstick." As close a transcription as my old brain cells can get from memory to my keyboard. Chris Matthews just made an important statement and one worthy of repeating to everyone we meet. It included a statement about the deteriorating state of this nation as it fights for a dwindling share of petroleum resources and the demise of our innovators because we haven't invested in quality education for everyone. This election is about the century ahead of us and not the one behind us. We need to get others on board for this century.

1. Argued about a guy's 30+ year old military medals in 2004. Just as stupid.
