CBS: McCain nearly drowned out by protesters in Philadelphia
They showed only a few seconds of video. Looked like McCain was in some restaurant with Cindy and a lot of customers were chanting "Obama". McCain was delivering some type of address but you couldn't hear what he was saying.

17. Because people who WORK downtown and live our in the 'burbs
They've written off the city - just interested in the commuters.

Like the Main Line, which is mostly Republican (used to be solid Republican) or the other suburbs, which are just about 50/50 now. These areas are considered key to winning PA.

10. Bwahahaha! If Obama wins the Philly area and Pittsburgh, he'll win the state.
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 05:52 PM by ClarkUSA
Pittsburgh is the area he needs to work on. Philly, as you can see, he has in the bag, although the Philly suburbs would
be useful to visit in the last week before the election.

12. Here's a link
http://www.philly.com/philly/hp/news_update/John_McCain_has_lunch_at_the_Down_Home_Diner.html

John McCain came to Philadelphia for lunch today. He flew into the airport at 2 p.m., motorcaded into the Down Home Diner in the Reading Terminal Market, ate with seven working women, made a statement, and went back to the airport.

This was a strange event. The candidate's lunch with the women was private. So we have no idea what they talked about. And the statement he made when it was over was largely drowned out by several dozen supporters of Barack Obama chanting "O-ba-ma, O-ba-ma!" They were in the main part of the market, out of sight but certainly not out of earshot.

As best I could hear, McCain said he was glad to have the chance to meet with these women, saluted the role of small business in the economy, and said that his policies were the ones that would help the economy grow.

I don't think so. Good for these protesters. Let 'em know: We don't apologize. We fight harder.

19. Heard about this on the way home...
The main radio news station played the "O-BA-MA!" chants that the Obama supporters were yelling the entire time that McLame was at Reading Terminal! The report said that he was here for 2 hours and left.

Woot to my Philly homeboys and homegirls!!! :applause:
