Speaking with union members of various government unions who were strongly behind Hillary during the primary I am encountering nothing but outrage with the current campaign and more enthusiastic support for Obama than ever before.
These folks who were resigned to support Obama are now vocal and enthusiastic about defeating McCain/Palin.
My prediction: In the end McCain/Palin will not only unify the Democratic Party but help fire up more enthusiasm that has existed since the primaries. These folks who mainly accepted the primary results are now 100% Obama/Biden supporters and they are vocal about it.
10. The only thing that surprised me about it was how extremely vocal they
are getting. It used to be that I would have to prompt the subject to come up, even during the primaries. Now people are bringing it up on their own. What is even more amazing is that most of these people are in law enforcement related areas which tend to be conservative and people try to go out of their way to keep their informal discussion non partisan. The degree of partisan fever is higher now than I have ever seen in this area.
14. Oddly I think that the catalyst is the Iraq war
Somehow I think that the trivialities of the McCain/Palin campaign has re ignited their anger on the lies about the war. A number of people I talked to had several deployents in Iraq.
