I know this isn't the sexiest of topics, but it is IMPORTANT.

Kick this thread to keep the word out.

Often, I will see a really important and effective video that is posted on DU, and it will show views on DU in the THOUSANDS. Yet, if you click on the youtube link in the lower right corner of the video, it will have only a handful of stars or favorites.

If EVERYONE would simply go directly to the video on youtube, and rate it five stars & favorite the video, we can keep the most important videos at the very top exposure on youtube, and those videos are more likely to become shown in the media and 'go viral' which simply means becoming enormously popular on the web.

People are putting enormous time into creating videos to counter the lies of the McCain camp, and many of these videos are more powerful and more effective then ones even put out by the Obama camp. But, they quickly fade into disappearance because while we watch and recommend on DU, we don't take the five seconds to go directly to youtube and rate there. And, if you don't have a youtube account, it is VERY quick to sign up, you just need to give an e-mail, no big deal.

By this singular action, we can DICTATE the videos that remain at the top of youtube. Viral video is an incredibly important component of the campaign.

Please rate this thread up and when you see an important political video that really nails it - RATE IT. And, also subscribe to the person's channel. The more subscribers they get, the more their videos will get shown and the more we get the word out.

It truly makes a BIG difference.

2. I don't know why whenever I try to post this, it gets completely ignored - HERE'S AN EXAMPLE

This is a great video currently posted on the front on DU.

It is about Palin, her position on rape and abortion. Very effective.

It has 13,000 views.

And, 40 stars. If people rated the video five stars it would appear at the very top of youtubes highest rated videos, highest rated political videos, most watched for the week videos, & it could get home page coverage.

I know it seems small, but I became a top subscribed comedian getting ratings. I ended up winning a lot of contests because of ratings.
