O'Reilly-Obama interview: I kind of liked O'Reilly
I normally despise O'Reilly, but I thought that he was fair and respectful during the interview with Obama. I feel like O'Reilly is probably prejudiced and willfully misinformed, but he respects character and strength when he sees it. Obama did not back down an inch from O'Reilly and made sure that he finished all his lucid points before O'Reilly could interrupt him or move on to the next question. Of all the Fox blowhards, dare I say that O'Reilly is the "best"?

1. I thought it was not a bad interview at all, really, from the parts I saw.
Surprising, but true.

2. O'Reilly isn't the boogeyman that some portray him as
I've found him to be fair in many istances, particularly concerning obama

3. O'Reilly was the test. If he mis-behaved, Obama would NOT come back.
AND that's bad for ratings..

4. Another thing

I happened upon O'Reilly's radio show the other day and one of his callers called Obama an 'empty suit'.

O'Reilly actually defended Obama, saying he was NOT an empty suit, he was smart, was committed to his ideals, but that Conservatives would have a problem with some of them.

I listened no further, but it was good to hear something other than stupid vitriol coming from the right wing mouthpiece community.

Thumbs up to ORily. LOL

5. Respects character and strength? No.
He fears it. O'Reilly is a typical bully, and I'm sure that Obama and his people told O'Reilly how it was going to be before the interview started. Once confronted by someone like Obama who can figuratively bloody his nose, bullies back down.

6. I know - I was amazed - it actually approached "fair and balanced"
I still have SERIOUS problems with him though - especially the way he sends producers to harass and stalk people who disagree with him. Not cool.
