Geraldine Ferraro's bounce in the polls

With some of the doom and gloom around here I just thought it would be a good idea to remind people that when Mondale picked Ferraro their ticket got a 15 point bounce in the polls. IT EVAPORATED INTO THIN AIR IN THREE WEEKS!!!! We all remember President Mondale don't we??
So please do try to keep daily tracking polls in their place and look at the historical precedents that are out there. Panic and acceptance of an "inevitable" McCain/Palin win is a cowardly and bullshit reaction to a temporary bounce.
Keep the faith, make the phone calls, do the canvassing and the lit drops.

Polls are just polls. They're not predictive of anything except maybe the current mood. But 55 days is a life time in elections.

3. I remember that perfectly well!!

I was so excited to see Mondale/Ferraro slightly ahead of Reagan/Bush -- and then gone -- And there was lot, lot less dirt about Ferraro that came out than with Palin!
