Matt Lauer on NBC was like a kid at Xmas regarding McCain's gains in poll

Talking with Chuck Todd regarding the new NBC poll (which incidentally still does have Obama up by 1) about all the gains that McCAin has made among women (particularly young women!) since picking Palin. And Swooning about how the idea that a VP can't help a ticket is outdated now. Oh, Chuck tries to bring it back with Obama's gains among men, but Matt won't have any of it. It's all Palin! Then he laughs at the question about how only 7% would want dinner with Joe Biden saying "Biden's going to have some lonely dinners." Todd points out that McCain isn't doing much better on that question (12%), more people want dinner with Obama than anybody else.

Lauer always strikes me as the ultimate GE shill.

1. Joe was pretty happy on Morning Joe too

(ok, I cheated and watched, but only 5 minutes of it). Chuck Todd was also saying "Palin is a bubble. Like the housing bubble...the question is, when will the bubble burst? Can they keep this up?" and Joe squealed "Maybe it will burst in January!" Chuck Todd also said of the lipstick thing "This thing is a JOKE. The McCain campaign is laughing their butts off that we are even bringing it up. I was having a debate with someone off the air about whether we should ever bring it up. Faux outrage is their new strategy." and Pat of course has no shame and tried to twist it and Chuck said "Pat, it's an EXPRESSION!"
