Wow! A huge switch by my fundie brother-in-law! Just keep saying ENOUGH! It DOES work!
Some of you were here this morning when I posted this about my fundie brother-in-law who always sends me right wing crap. He's been a strong Bush supporter and now is ALL Palin ALL THE TIME! :argh: This morning, he did it again, sending a chain email comparing Obama and McCain's policies. Of course, Obama's were all lies, so I fired off an email with a link to factcheck.org with the correct answers.

This evening, I check my email and I was so surprised to get the email I got from him. Not only did he apologize and agree it was crap that he sent. He said he will stop sending them and will wait till the debates to make a decision. He said he too, is tired of the shit-slinging between parties. He realizes we are really all in this together. He apologized again for offending me and signed off:wow:

I sent a thanks and told him we could work through these differences because what unites is stronger than what divides us (I wonder where I've heard that before;)

Just keep saying ENOUGH! Damn if it doesn't work!:D

4. After my mom dissed Palin...
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 09:14 PM by liberalmuse
I started to believe that more people would turn away from this icon the 'pubs have created as a product of their own projections. I'm ashamed to say that I believed my fundie, former Bush-loving, twice-voting mom would be sucked in by Palin. You know what got her on our side? Torture. If my mom turns against the Republicans, I have hope for everyone. She fucking hates Palin! I'm trying to turn my co-worker right now. She knows I'm well-informed, and is even surprised when I'm right. Not to be arrogant--I am dumber than dirt, but at least I read up on stuff, unlike most people, it turns out. You would be surprised at how many Republicans just want one good reason to vote otherwise. Read the main post again, if you are in doubt. They want to know that as Kennedy did not favor Catholics as President, they also need to be reassured that Obama will not favor blacks as President. It seems stupid, but this really does bother them.

On Edit: I apologize for the poor grammar, but I think you get the gist.

5. I think that's key here: read and educate ourselves..
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 09:18 PM by Blue_Roses
we have to do that for us and not let the MSM do the work for us. Some just don't care enough or either just too lazy so they just go with the status quo. Me, I need more. That's why I've always liked DU--even through the primaries x( My BIL is a parrot for FOX. I don't think he's quite ready for Keith and Rachel, but there is hope:D

7. Tell them the people he was closest to in his life
growing up were his WHITE Mother, WHITE grandmother, WHITE grandfather. He basically saw his AFRICAN (black) father once when he was ten years old. His step father was Indonesian, his sister is half Indonesian and half white and is married to a Chinese man. He is married to an African American woman who has the blood of black slaves and white slave owners and whose first cousin once removed is a rabbi. Why would he favor blacks?

8. Tell your co-worker this
One of McCain's platform issues is taxing her employer-paid health benefits as personal income.

And I'm not making this up.

How any working person could vote for this asshat is beyond me.

10. Dear Liberal Muse:
You express yourself beautifully. If you aren't great at spelling, you must know how to use spell-check!

If there were any grammatical errors, they didn't jump out at me, and they surely didn't get in the way of your message. Clarity is, after all, the reason we have punctuation and grammar rules.

You get an A+ from this old teacher.
