This insidious line of argument is gaining traction on the right wing regarding how they can use the candidacy of Sarah Palin to fight back against feminists. This sounds eerily like Clarence Thomas, and how the RW could use him to roll back civil rights gains. The attached link is not the only example. There are other stories on rightwing sights discussing how Palin can be used as weapon against feminist arguments.

Well, I guess women's rights advocates could very well have their own Clarence Thomas.

1. This is a classic ploy. Trot out a token minority who parrots the party line.

The bushco arm of the Republican Party really excels at this ploy. Clarence Thomas, Condaleeza Rice, now Sarah TaliPalin.

You almost have to admire the insidious and evil nature of the right wing in first appointing an African American to weaken civil rights laws, and now to rally behind the selection of a woman vice-president to attack feminism. Yet, we are now being told by the RW media that women are flocking to support Palin's candidacy. Then again, I recall media celebrating the selection of Clarance Thomas as being supported by the African American community, so touche' to the right wing for fooling the American public once again.
