in the next 24 hrs or by Friday. So far nothing to get too excited about. We'll see what happens.

the rest of the world?

That thread is irritatingly vague. Without knowing anything about the OP, it's hard to get excited.

I don't mind when events tease at me once in a while. Also, I'm a bit bored with the Doomsday posts of late around this joint and am in the mood for a pick-me-up.

And if it comes at the expense of the Republicans, so much the better!

44. Hi, Kristi. I think it would be just great if the GOP woke up one of
these days -- say, tomorrow or the next day, even -- and found themselves in a pool of their own deceit.

I don't even much care about the specifics, but they've been dishing it out to others for a long time. I'd like to see some of 'em experience some of that trauma and displacement.

Republicans these days tend to be bullies. It's a lift to see a bully fall flat on his face once in a while.

39. I have no insights to offer on possible realizations but believe that
the OP in question is a reliable source on politics and on a good number of other subjects as well.

I've been the beneficiary of the OP's PMs at times and have had the pleasure of reading several posts.

Of course I am biased against the Republicans so any hint that will impede their path to the White House bears looking at, and it's all the more encouraging for me if someone with the brains and instincts of lonestarnot is approaching us with the scoop.

I'm willing to wait for it.

McCain has made a lot of enemies in his long years as a public figure. The Sunday talk shows toss him easy lob questions so he can grandstand. And he's been pandering his way to this nomination now for at least 7 years. I'm hoping it's something involved with McCain's selling his soul to the GOP devil that would tripswitch the momentum to the Democrats without serious challenge between now and November.

50. DCBob, howdy & happy September.
I haven't seen anything this past week, post-St. Paul or so, to give us any serious pause on the election.

McCain is getting a bounce but it's more of a kick-a-dead-possum bounce and not a springing panther bounce.

Our ground game is still vastly superior and the new registration all leans Democratic, in some cases by quite a damn bit.

There's a chance that there's a scandal afoot and we may hear of it soon, for all I know, and as I posted earlier, I don't know a damn thing.

But! I'll entertain the notion that McCain's long-time lobbying connections may be a problem for him. Or, we may hear that something untoward took place during the primaries or in some kind of "extra-Congressional" business deal.

Beats me what it may be, but let's hope that McCain is slowed to a virtual standstill and that his base bails on him.

I want a strong Democratic win this November, up and down the ballot!

The rest of it was the real story but the TV media does not like complex stories especially if they aren't hot and filled with sex or wild sounding black preachers.

60. Whatever it is, I hope we have several of the following to stop the Liars in their tracks:
Video: hopefully of John, Vicki, and Viagra...or Sarah and a Moose. :puke:

Audio: Rethugs admitting hacking the vote in 2004, and their detailed plans to do it again. Yeah, call me

Documents: Irrefutable money trail from McCain to Abramhoff, Keating, Georgian Republic...any or all are fine with me. :smoke:

One more, serious thought: what about a big, public rally with a Colin Powell endorsement, followed by dozens of Powell interviews as to why he is backing Obama/Biden. That will most certainly knock McCain/Palin out of the headlines.

75. lonestarnot hinted that it might break tonight
This was within one of the three threads....he said it could break at any minute but he also said it might be later this week.

Also mentioned coming out of NY or DC, and that lawyers were involved, and that it was about McCain, not Palin, and "a long time coming".

I can't get my hopes up that much, because every time do I get farted on big time.

But if this does materializes I will show respect forever!

To be fair to DU, I have had some instances were posters predict and break stories like a fuckin' prophet... I hope this is one of them.

:toast:

Nor anywhere else.

How would this particular DU'er have gotten ahold of this and no one else?
